The next day Alex and I get up and get ready for orientation. We have about thirty minuets before we have to be there, so we decide to stop and get breakfast on the way. There's little shops all her campus but are quick shops, almost like corner stores near the athletic department. I buy a naked juice, a banana nut muffin, and a clif bar. While Alex gets a bottle of water and a plain bagel.
We continue to walk to the lecture hall, which is on the other side of campus. When we get to the building, there are a lot of kids making their way inside. Alex and I find seats, we sit down and talk until the head of the school steps onto the stage. She starts talking about the school and what she expects of us, as incoming freshman. She continues to talk about god knows what.
I get bored and start playing with Alex's hand, tracing random shapes and what not. I look up and Alex and see a small smile on her face, cute.
About an hour and half later we leave the lecture hall and make our way back to our room.
"Do you wanna go to the pitch?" Alex ask.
"I thought you'd never ask." I say.
Alex laughs and we both get our gear on. I have on sweatpants and a tee shirt, I wasn't forcing myself in jeans to go to orientation okay. I take off my shirt and sweatpants before looking around for the rest of my things.
"Do you want to do a few drills and things or just 1v1?" I ask.
Alex doesn't respond so I look up at her. She's biting her lips while staring at me. Well, at least now I know she still likes me. I'm single now and I still have a crush on Alex, so I decide to tease her. I walk over and Alex swallows hard which brings a smirk to my face. Alex is only in her shorts and a sports bra, I wrap my arms around her waist and move my lips to her ears.
"Is something wrong?" I whisper.
I hear Alex let out a breath, for how long she has been holding is beyond me. I look into her eyes and I get super close to her face. My lips are ghosting Alex's, not yet touching though. Slowly, Alex puts her arms around my neck and pulls me in for a kiss.
It isn't like the other times we've kissed. All those times I had to worry about Julie and all this other stuff. But right now, all I can think about is Alex. I pull away and smile, Alex has a smile on her face too.
"I need to finish getting ready." I say.
I slip out of Alex's grip and put the rest of my clothes on. We head to the field and start passing the ball around, doing tricks here and there. It isn't awkward, us being alone together. Which I am very thankful for.
"I thought I'd find you here."
I look up and see Hannah at the field entrance.
"Hey Hannah, what's up?" I ask.
"I was wondering if you and your friend-" Hannah starts,
"Alex." I say.
"Alex would like to come to a party tonight." Hannah finishes.
"Maybe, I'll text you."
"Alright, it was nice to meet you Alex."
Alex smiles a little but I can tell its fake. I wait until Hannah leaves then I to walk over to Alex.
"Are you jealous?"
"No."
I cock my eyebrow at Alex's response and start laughing.
"Alex, Hannah is a junior. So I'm more than sure she doesn't want to date a freshman. Also I met her yesterday, she helped me find my dorm and unpack. We got to know each other and she's a really cool person once you get to know her." I explain.
