Carl : He said it first. You were just upset that day for no apparent reason and he thought you were mad at him. so he said it so he wouldn't regret not saying it to you in the future. He didn't plan on saying it that day so he was overly nervous when he came over to you while you were in your bunk. Little did he know, that you loved him too and you laughed at how he thought you were mad at him.
