Alphys x Amalgamated monster reader

You sat on the cool tile floor and watches silently as Dr. Alphys spoke with her significant other, Undyne.

She seemed so happy around undyne, even with what she did to you.... But for some odd reason you were happy for your old friend.

You used to work with her, you were one of the apprentices, the both of you worked together with the others on the "Determination" project.

However all the experiments failed horribly, turning all of the experiments into HORRIBLE amalgamated monstrosities. These monstrosities now roam the cold, blank halls of this underground lab in hot land.

At the time, we didn't know what to do. We had grown desperate. And in a moment of desperation, in a moment of WEAKNESS. You experimented on yourself.

Only to be found by Dr. Alphys herself the next day, in your new melted, grotesque form. Slumped against the desk, black ooze dripped from the holes in your body, and some of your limbs. MELTED together, turning you into one of the other amalgamates.

The only difference being, you were alone. Only one being. One mind. In one body.

When all the other amalgamates were multiple monsters, meshed together, many minds, shoved into one being.

It hurt being so alone, but it wasn't always like that. Alphys used to talk to you. She used to tell you that one day you would get better.

She kept you company when you got lonely, and on occasion she would even play checkers with you. She wouldn't even play soft on you, because she knew your mind was intact.

Thick black tears started streaming down your face and chin. You snivled, wiping your face of tears.

Alphys did. But not anymore. That was years ago. And every day you've waited, but Alphys gave you her company less and less. Soon enough she forgot all about you.

So you hid. In your misery, and pain you cloaked yourself in the darkness. Avoiding the lizard scientist.

You missed your friend dearly, but you didn't have the strength to face her. Until today.

****FLASHBACK YEAAAA****

You were hidden, hidden in the far corner of a dark room. Pain was blaring in your head, and sprouting in your joints. Inky tears dribbled down your face.

Hiccuping and whimpering as you cried. You melted body in was in a terrible amount of discomfort.

".......ee..e....ph.........ee"

You froze, a cold sweat crept up your spine when you heard a disembodied and raspy voice.

"......fi....n....d.....Al.......p...h....ys.........."

The pain subsided... Your vision was tunneling... ".........wh-"

"FIND ALPHYS NOW!!!!!!!" The voice suddenly boomed in your ear. The pain in your head throbbed twice as hard as it did before.

You howled in pain, screaming in terror as your vision faded in and out.

That when you heard her, "y-yn?. Y-yn! Is that you?" You whimpered and turned to look at her. She dropped her clipboard, utterly shocked.

That's when you noticed she started crying, hot tears flowed from her eyes like a waterfall. "Yn, I'm so s-sorry, I should've been able to f-fix this, to fix you. But no matter how hard I try I can't seem to- oh it doesn't m-matter, You're back!..... You've been gone for so long......"

Alphys leaned down, she reaches out towards you. "Shhh, it's ok. I'm here now. You're here now. I will fix this.... Somehow" she stated calmly as she touched your melted shoulder.

"Somehow...."

You turned and noticed Alphys approaching you calmly, a small dusty box in her hands. She sat across from you, and set the box down.

"I hope this will make you feel better, even if I won't be able to bring you back to your usual self, and I will try... Then at least I can spend some time with you. Hope u remember how to-"

She tugged the cardboard lid off the box, revealing a checker board and all the pieces. "-Play"

You did hate Alphys, but she was like a sister to you. And it was foolish of you to forget that.
