we live in a world so full of anger and resentment
where everyone is on some new antidepressant.
a world where our eyes are cast down
and we hold our tongues with our plastered frowns
we hold everything inside like it's a lifeline.
but wouldn't we be better off living in a world full of something more?
a world with open minds and open doors?
where everyone is looking up at the stars scattered across the sky
a world where we can express who we are and what we hold near and dear inside?
the kind of world where you have nothing to fear
the living is living a life where they hear your cries
you can shed your tears and a hand will be there to wipe them away
a world where nobody ever turns and leaves you astray
a world that starts with one single person looking up at the sky and shouting
"i'm here and i'm alive"
