Stiles didn't realise, all he knew was that he felt a little strange, the pain from the injections taking a lot longer to ease.

He was shoved back in the cell, feeling tense but also far more exhausted than usual. He flopped down to the ground with a groan of pain but also tried to stifle a yawn at the same time.

He didn't notice at all that his eyes had changed colour, indicating he was no longer an omega.

"Stiles! Your eyes!"

However Lucy did.

"What?" He mumbled, barely awake.

Why was he so tired?

"Your eyes, your eyes are blue Stiles" Lucy said, this time in a softer but sympathetic tone.

This made Stiles snap his eyes open.

Wait?

What?

It felt like someone had suddenly given him a shot of coffee with how alert he suddenly felt.

He was a beta?

For some reason despite knowing this would happen eventually, the longer he stayed here, the longer a part of him believed, it wouldn't happen to him, that he'd stay a omega.

But of course that wasn't true, why would it be? Why would he deny this reality?

"I'm a beta?" Stiles repeated, shock entering his system as he sat up straight.

He glanced down at his hands as if he'd find something he didn't notice before.

He didn't feel any different, perhaps more exhausted than normal.

"You're a submissive beta, you should start to change more quickly now, that's what happened to me anyway" Lucy said.

The fact that he was still here and now he had been forced to become a beta, made a sudden hopelessness weigh on him.

He had been hoping for rescue, hadn't he?

Hoping that, Derek would save him.

His Alpha.

But that didn't to be the case, it looks like there was no way out.

It was just his false hope wasn't it?

Waiting for someone who would never come.

How long had it been since he'd been waiting?

He couldn't tell.

The fact they had no way to tell the time and no way to see if it was day or night outside made telling how long they had actually been here, very hard.

All he knew was that it felt like a really long time.

Stiles swallowed as this reality settled on to him. He ran his fingers through his hair, this was really it? No one was coming to rescue them?

"This is really it? Isn't it. I think...I was in denial. But we'll both die here, won't we?" He said, his voice trembling a little.

His eyes felt a little blurry as he tried to come to turns with his fate.

And what would happen to his Dad?

His Dad must be out of his mind with worry.

What would his Dad do without him?

He had a hard time with his mother's death, what about him?

How would he deal with losing his owning son?

Stiles ran his hands through his hair, his shoulders slumping.

It seemed like there was nothing he could do.

And time continued to tick on.

Stiles eyes continued to get darker and deeper blue while Lucy's continued to dull.

But that couldn't continue, not forever.
