Katelyn POV

I was in Kaid's hospital room, crying my eyes out. They hurt so bad because they were raw. He still was unconscious. I wanted for him so badly to wake up, but every time I looked, he was still there, laying lifeless.

"Can I get you something?" I looked back at Kendall. I was surprised he was a still here, but I knew he was going to leave soon and I was going to chew him out when he did. I shook my head.

"No." He nodded and sat next to me. He looked at Kaid and then looked at me.

"Maybe you should go home for a while, then come back." I shook my head fast. There was no way in hell was leaving my baby's side, I let him leave once and now look where he ended up, I was never gonna let him leave my sight, ever again.

"No, Kendall, he ended up in here because I let him out of my sight once." He sighed and nodded.

Then, he scoffed, "Were you too busy with your boyfriend?" Was he serious right now? He was gonna fight with me in front of our unconscious son? I turned to him slowly, I was about to let loose.

"First of all, he's not my boyfriend, even if he was, it's none of your business. Second of all, he cares about Kaid just as much as you do, or even if you do." He was staring daggers at me.

"Apparently it is my business if he was the reason you were being fucking distracted from watching our son!" I grabbed Kaid's hand.

"Don't use that language in front of him." Kendall sighed.

"Why does it matter? He's not even..." He stopped his sentence. I praised him mentally for doing that because I really didn't want to hear that Kaid wasn't conscious. I started crying again, damn Kendall. I laid my head on Kaid's hand, I was a mess. Any mother would be.

I sobbed quietly, but loud enough for anyone in the room to hear. "Katelyn..." I didn't even acknowledge Kendall, I didn't care about anyone else but Kaid. I took a peek at Kendall. He looked sick, like he was going to throw up, I actually think seeing Kaid like this has taken a toll on him.

"Katelyn..." He said again.

"What?" My voice muffled from the sheets.

"I'm gonna go." See, I told you! I told you! He was going to leave.

"Are you serious, you're gonna leave when your son is like this?!" I stood up. He stood up as well.

He shook his head. "Listen, ok believe it or not, I-I-I'm sad, hurt and a mess just like you. More than you even, I don't want to see him like this. I told you from the start, I don't want anything to do with Kaid. I don't have time, I have a career to pursue."

"I really thought seeing him like this would maybe put some sense in your damn head, but yet you have your head shoved so far up your ass and in your fame and career, you don't even focus or pay attention to the ones you love!"

"I picked him up on the side of the fuckin' road! I could've left him there!"

"Oh anybody would've done that if they saw a six year old on the side of the road, they'd be the devil if they didn't. Even you, an asshole, would've done that." He picked up his coat.

"Katelyn, I'm going." James walks in. Kendall looks at him. "What the fuck are you doing here?"

He got in Kendall's face, "I'm here for Kaid, something you'd never do."

"I'm here now aren't I?" James looks down at Kendall's jacket.

"Looks like you're on your way out." Kendall looked like he was going to punch him in the face, I stepped between them.
