I open my eyes and I'm in a bright room. I try to speak but my throats dry, to dry to talk.

"Hello" I say

My vision is a little blurry, but I can make out that I'm in a hospital bed.

I look around the room, I'm alone. Where is everyone? What happened? I remember seeing blood then passing out.

A nurse walks into the room.

"Hi, Ashley. How are you feeling?"She asks with a white smile

"Not great." I say honestly

"What's bothering you.?"

"I'm really thirsty. Why am I here?"

"Here's some water" She hands me a cup. "You were shot, You're fine now though."

"Shot? Where"? I ask looking at my body

"Your leg. You'll need physical therapy, but you should be completely fine." She smiles at me

"Where's my family."

"Talking to the police.''

Must be about Dylan.

I'm still in shock about this whole situation. I can't believe Dylan shot me because he's in love with me?

I don't even know where he got a gun from. All I want right now is to hold Ayden. I'm really thankful to be alive. I can't believe Dylan would do this and risk me leaving my baby all alone.

I don't understand why my family can't catch a break. First Zack being in a coma for 6 months, now this. What's next? I don't want to know at this point.

I hear the door creek open and my dad walks in.

"What's going on?" I ask

"Nothing." He says "Everything's going to be okay."

"Where's Zack?"

"He's being questioned by the police."

"What, about Dylan." I say

My dad sighs "they've placed him in jail until this goes to court''

"I didn't know Dylan was like this." My dad continues "He seemed off the past few weeks, but I just thought it was about Maria."

That reminds me, Maria.

"Where is she? Is she okay?"

"She's fine, I took her home."

I sigh, I'm glad everyone's okay. Even though I got shot, it could have been so much worse.

Who knows what Dylan is capable of. I'm just glad everyone's okay, especially Zack. He doesn't need anything bad to happened to him after nearly dying.

Zack walks into my room after my dad left.

"You okay?" Zack asks

"Yes" I say and smile

"I was so worried about you, It took the cops almost an hour to get there. You passed out, it was so dark I couldn't find where the bleeding was coming from."

"I'm sorry." I say "It's all okay now"

"I thought I lost you" He says with tears in his eyes

I hug him as tight as I can.

He'll never lose me, I'll always be here.

"I'm okay" I say into his neck

I wake up the next morning still in the hospital. They wanted to keep me over night just to make sure I was 100% okay. I'm ready to go home, I miss Ayden so much.
