As I walked out of the school gates, I saw my mum leaning on her black BMW and a rush went through me. It wasn't everyday my mum picked me up from school, usually our butler Bernard had to collect me because dad would be stuck in his lab and mum would be stuck at headquarters. But today there she was, standing effortlessly in her black pant suit and red stilettos, looking everything a spy should look; elegant, beautiful and a little scary! As I made my way towards her ( and her car!) I wondered momentarily why she was here, but that though vanished as soon as I saw the box on the front seat covered in emerald green ( my favourite colour) rapping paper and a huge pink bow. " Hay kiddo" my mum said as I reached the car. She reached into the front seat and emerged holding the box and wearing the biggest and most beautiful smile I'd ever seen. "Open it!" She said as I took the box from her outstretched hands and started carefully undoing the bow. When I finally got the box to open I could hardly speak. "Mum!" I exclaimed as I held up the beautiful diamond necklace that lay delicately on my palm. "Its beautiful! But why did you get it for me?" It was quite odd for my mother to get me such an expensive gift, but then the reason hit me. "Your going away again aren't you?" I said turning away, unable to look at my mothers face.The world was turning blury, my throught was getting tight. When our family was together it was still dangerous but I felt safer because I knew each morning I would wake up and be able to see my mum. When she went away I lived in constant fear that she might come back hurt or worse, not come back at all. " It's ok Aria" my mother soothed " Its only for 3 weeks, I'll be back safe and sound before you know it." But even though 3 weeks wasn't much to a normal person, to a spy (or spy in training) it felt like a lifetime. " Where are you going?" I whispered, turning slowly to face my mother again. " New York City" she replied.
