When I wake up, I realize it's Monday, and I bolt up. As I jump out of bed, I accidentally step on Angel's hand.

"Ow, that hurt!" she says.

"Sorry, but we have to get ready for school," I reply.

"Oh crap, that's today?" she asks as she stands up.

"Yea, it's Monday. Now, get up, we have to get our gym clothes too," I say as I get my uniform out.

Once we put our uniforms on, we grabbed our bag that has our gym clothes in it. When we walked downstairs, we were surprised to see Clara sitting on the couch next to Mum and Dad.

"Mum, why is Clara here?" I ask.

"She forgot to tell you girls that she'll be driving you to school," Mum replies.

Angel and I walk to the kitchen, still shocked that our teacher would be driving us to school. Angel grabs a pop-tart, and goes back to the lounge, ready to go to school. I, on the other hand, decide to make a bagel, and then I put strawberry spreading on it, and walk to the lounge.

"Are you girls ready?" Clara asks us.

"Almost, ma'am," Angel replies, "We just have to grab our backpacks."

"Okay, well hurry up," she says.

As we grab our backpacks, mine pink with light blue highlights, her's light blue with pink highlights. We run to her car, and Angel sits in the back.

"Angel, you know that you can sit in the passenger's seat," Clara says to Angel.

She replies before taking a bite out of her pop-tart, "I know, but I want to sit next to Kath."

"Okay, if you want to. Oh, here, these are your schedules," Clara says as she hands us both a piece of paper.

On my schedule, it says that I have P.E. last, and all my other classes, except for music and art, are with Clara. Angel, on the other hand, has Clara for reading, and all her other classes are with other teachers. Thankfully, we have P.E. together. After we shared our schedules with each other and finished our breakfast, we got out of the car, for school.

When we went in, I tried to hide my face, since I hated being the "New Girl" and so I just looked at my feet while Clara was leading me to her classroom.

"Will I have a locker partner?" I ask, scared.

"Yes, but for now, you get to keep your things with my things, since you don't know anyone," Clara replies.

As we walk to her classroom, I ask, "Can I just keep my notebooks at my desk, since all my classes are with you?"

"Yes, but you won't be staying at the same desk for all your classes," she says, opening the door.

When we walk in, I see about 2 dozen (24) desks. Is this really the classroom I'll be in for the whole week? I ask myself. As I sit down on the floor next to Clara, the rest of the class comes in.

After everyone sat down, Clara said, "Class, we have a new student, Kathy Pond. Please, don't crowd around her, she is very shy, you can meet her during lunch. Kathy, you may go and pick your seat."

As I walk down the rows, I feel people's eyes on me, and I start to cry softly. I decide to take a seat in the back row. While Clara is talking to the class, the girl next to me hands me a tissue, noticing my tear streaks.

"Thanks," I say in a whisper.

"Your welcome," she says back in a whisper, "My name is Alice Tyler, what's your's?"

"Kathy, but my cousin, Angel, calls me Kath," I quickly say, while whispering.

"Coolio, wanna sit by me at lunch?" Alice asks.

"Sure, I guess," I reply.

When the bell rings, Alice asks, "What class do you have next?"

"Geography with Clara," I reply.

"Nice, me too. Heads up, she is known as Ms. Oswald," Alice says after looking at her schedule.

"Well, I don't think she'll mind me calling her that," I say.

"Oh? And why is that?" Alice asks.

"She drove Angel and I here, and she's friends with my Mum and Dad," I say, in a whisper so that no one hears me.

"What! Lucky!" Alice says as we head for Clara's classroom.

When we enter, I ask Alice something, "Where do you sit? Also, is there a seat next to or near yours?"

"Why, of course there's an empty seat next to mine," Alice says as we enter the classroom.

When we sit down, we realise that we're 2 minutes early. As soon as Alice starts reading, I head up to Clara's desk, to get my notebook and a pencil.

"Kath, what are you doing?" Alice says when she looks up.

"I'm getting my notebook and pencil," I respond.

"Oh, sorry. I forgot the fact that you left your stuff with Ms. Oswald," Alice says, apologizing.

When I head back to my desk, the rest of the class comes in.

"Good morning class, I hope your ready to learn about Asian cultures," Clara says as she heads to her desk.

While Clara is taking attendance, Alice tells me what notes I need to get done for Asia.

"Wow. That's a lot of notes," I say after Alice is finished.

"Yeah, but it's only 2-3 pages per section, so that makes it easier," she replies.
