Monday morning I found myself worried about what to wear, trying to take Ruby's wayward advice and dressing more like a girl. Killian's adorable good morning text had my hands shaking the entire time I did my make up. I was seriously going to have to shop if I was going to dress like this, slipping on my short heels before heading down to the kitchen. I was hoping no one would notice but they all did, because that's just how my life works.

"What?" I asked around a mouthful of apple when I found all three of them staring at me. "Why are you all looking at me like that?"

"You just look... different," Anna said, always the one to talk without thinking. "You've been her for almost four months and I've never seen you dress like that."

"And there are roses next to your bed," Elsa continued where her sister left off. "So what boy are you hiding from us?"

"There's no boy," I said though I could feel my cheeks betraying me. "I just felt like looking nice... and my room needed brightening up."

"Oh really?" she said as she followed me out to my car. "I don't remember you going out yesterday and they weren't there yesterday morning, so where did they come from?"

"Don't worry about it," I sighed, sitting in the drivers' seat. "Now unless you're riding with me, I have to go."

"Don't mind if I do," she smiled, sliding in the other side just as I pulled out of the driveway. I saw a familiar motorcycle go by and smiled to myself, unable to help it. "Now what's that smile? Why won't you tell me?"

"Because it's my business, okay?" I insisted, trying not to sound mean. "You'll find out soon enough, so can you just drop it for now?"

"Fine," she pouted, crossing her arms as I pulled into the school parking lot and parked next to said motorcycle. "But I expect details at some point."

"Whatever," I shook my head, grabbing my books and going towards the school. I tried not to walk to quickly and not respond when I saw Killian standing across from my locker, our eyes meeting for a split second and his staying planted on my back even as I walked away biting my lip all the way to homeroom. "Hey, guys, what's up?"

"I think my foster brother has a girlfriend," Ruby said with disgust and I felt my stomach twist as I sat next to her. "He bought roses yesterday, and he's always grinning at his phone like an idiot when he's even home."

"Gross," The girl in front of me whose name I thought was Milah agreed with her tone, my face starting to go pink. "He got so weird, who would date him now? That stutter is so annoying."

"Honestly," Ruby scoffed. "I thought about it freshman year, but like you said, he got so weird. But what's weirder, since he started stalking to whoever this crazy girl is, he barely ever stutters." Killian came in at that moment and my eyes automatically followed him as he came to sit behind me. "Uhm, excuse you. What are you doing sitting back here?"
