Olivia's POV
After 20 minutes of ranting to Ade about how little I know about her, I learnt a few facts about her -
1. Her surname is Diaz.
2. She has an older brother - the one that I saw her arguing with called Matthew and a 6 year old sister called Diana.
3. Her father sadly passed away due to cancer when she was 6 years old.I couldn't help but comfort her when she told me because I also went through the process of losing a loved one to cancer. My grandma. I remember her, laying on the hospital bed, weak and so feeble until I heard the machine go beep indicating that she had passed away. I locked myself in my bedroom for days since me and my grandma were close. I couldn't bear the feeling knowing that I was never going to see her again.
I also exchanged a few facts about myself to her so we both established bits of information about each other while sipping on some delicious coffee. I can never get bored of it.
We were now back in campus heading to the football ground while making small talk. Some students were still in the halls and they were acting very strange. Every step we took, they would be people staring at me and whispering comments underneath their breaths.
Out of nowhere, a girl I don't recognise approaches me and Ade. She has wavy strawberry blonde hair which passes her shoulders and bright blue eyes. She has specks of freckles which you can only notice close up.
"Hi, are you Olivia?" She politely asked but the first thought that came to mind is how does she know my name?
"Please come with me, it has something to do with Taylor!" She grabbed hold of my wrist and dragged me across the hall like a little kid. I turnt around to face Ade who also has a puzzled look on her face.
I stopped her from dragging me.
"Wait, why did you come for me, I have nothing got to do with him." I frowned at her.
She also stopped and faced me.
"Oh, people assumed that you were his girlfriend, since they saw you with him."
Wooowwww. People actually jump to conclusions without even knowing the full story. What monkeys they are. I mused.
"Um, I'm not... his girlfriend." I broke the news to her.
"Oh, but this is all happening because of you!" She continued dragging me to wherever she was taking me.
Why is this all happening because of me? I pondered.
We abruptly stopped in front of a huge crowd which consisted of girls shrieking in fear and boys calling out for Taylor to 'stop!' I started squeezing myself through the crowd.
I'm completely mortified. I'm literally frozen in my steps. It's Taylor beating the crap out of some boy that I recognise from somewhere.
Think Olivia.
It's a boy, if I'm correct called Joshua and he's in my Chem class.
I had no idea where my legs were taking me until I realised I was crouching beside Taylor. His eyes are dark and full of detestation. He's completely merciless. The continuous blows he's throwing at him is endless. You can't even make out Joshua's face anymore. He lies there unconscious and lifeless but Taylor is still going with the punches.
What did Joshua do to provoke him?
"TAYLOR STOP!" I shook his shoulder. He didn't even glance at me but I know he heard me because he stopped for a millisecond and then resumed torturing the body underneath him.
A voice then bellowed overpowering the noise that was already being made.
"LAUTNER, THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING OR YOU'RE OFF THE TEAM!" It's the team coach. I'm surprised he didn't say he would be suspended because this is pretty serious.
I was still holding onto him, shaking with fear.
He then suddenly looked at me.
"Don't touch me." He snarled at me. He then pushed me off him. I don't think he noticed the strength he used because I collided into the nearest wall and I think I heard my wrist snap.
He got up and left, the crowd making his own pathway.
I bit my lip to stop myself from raining with tears. I was in severe pain and needed medical attention because my wrist is currently throbbing but my injuries aren't that bad compared to Joshua. Everyone is surrounding him trying to seek medical attention.
In the corner of my eye, I can see Ade hurrying to me worried.
"Are you okay Olivia?" She panted as she has to run plus push through the at the moment very large crowd.
"I'm okay." I lied. I hid my wrist which is currently blue and purple and all the colours in the world.
It hurts like a bîtch.
"I think the game is still going on because I haven't heard anyone say anything about it being cancelled.." She informed me.
"I guess it's because these games lead to the championships." She continued.
I couldn't miss the game since Caleb was playing. I'd feel guilty as I made a promise to him."A little help please." I pleaded
She held her small hand out to me and pulled me up with my hand that is not causing me severe pain.
We headed to the football ground, the crowd also dispersing, heading into the same direction.
~
"WOOOO!" Me and Ade cheered, clapping since Caleb just made a touchdown. He done a few black flips as a celebration. Show off. I rolled my eyes. I made sure I did light claps or else I would snap my wrist even more than it already has.
Before the game started, I spotted Alex near the grounds wearing a cheer uniform which could only mean that she's probably the leader of the cheer team since she has been consecutively in the past. She has the biggest smile on her face. I'm guessing she has no idea what occurred just before the game.
"Omg Liv what happened to your wrist?!" Ade questioned me - anxiously waiting for an answer.
"Wh-what?" I stammered.
"Your wrist!" She pointed at my badly injured wrist.
"Oh, that, um I got hurt?" I stated the obvious, more like asked.
