Olympic Trials 2016

"Welcome to the uneven bars Madison Kocian"
Maddy had a rough start to the Olympic trials and was extremely nervous going into the uneven bars. She knew this was her specialty but she had already fallen on beam and stepped out on floor so she wasn't sure if this would be enough to secure her a spot on the 2016 Olympic team. She heard Aly telling her she could do it, and that was enough for her to believe in herself. She hit a clean routine on bars and landed perfectly, now was the wait. Her teammates rushed over to her but their words were just jumbled together "Great routines" "Good jobs" as she focused on the score boards. Her score came up and it was enough for Martha to have to consider taking her to the Olympics. Aly waited till all the others had congratulated her before walking over and hugging her tight. She whispered in her ear "I'm so proud of you Maddy I knew you could do this"
"Aly I love you" was all that came out of her mouth.
"What" said Aly but just as she said that the team was dragged into the locker room to wait for scores.
Now Maddy couldn't help but think she might have ruined what her and Aly had as she waits for the teams to be announced. They sat there quietly and after what seemed like an eternity Martha came in holding the list of names. Everyone stood up hearts racing in their chests.
"This will be your 2016 USA Olympic Gymnastics Team....
Simone Biles, Simone smiled, but had already known she would make it since she was first in the standings.
Alexandra Raisman, Aly jumped up overjoyed that she had made it back for Rio.
Laurie Hernandez she read and Laurie smiled her huge smile.
2 Time Olympian Gabrielle Douglas, Gabby had a relieved smile on her face
And finally the last member of your 2016 Olympic Team everyone's hearts raced as Martha announced the last name.
Madison Kocian, 'oh my gosh I can't believe this is happening I'm going to the Olympics!!'
Maddy completely forgot about what had happened earlier with Aly atleast for a little while as she celebrates with her family and friends. There were less than 2 weeks before the Olympics started and that was all Maddy had on her mind anymore. She figured Aly must've forgotten or had really not heard her and she wasn't letting anything get in the way of her dream to be an Olympic Champion.

The girls packed their bags and headed to Rio when they arrived at the village they were told who they would be rooming with Laurie with Simone, Aly with Maddy and Gabby in her own room. Maddy was nervous to be rooming with Aly and hoped she had really not heard what Maddy said to her at trials. The day went on as they dropped their suitcases off and headed to training. Training was mostly focused on their routines now so they would be perfect for the competition. It went by quickly and they got dinner and headed back to their rooms. Maddy didn't know if Aly wanted to be alone during the competition to focus so she crawled into her own bed and shut off the light.
'That's weird' Aly thought 'we always sleep together maybe she's just nervous' Aly didn't let it bother her and quickly drifted off to sleep missing the warmth of the younger gymnasts body beside her. Aly woke to tossing and turning in the bed next to her. Maddy was sweating and shaking as Aly tried to wake her up. Maddy woke up breathing hard trying to catch her breath.
"Mads what's wrong you can tell me"
"Aly I'm sorry for waking you up you can go back to bed I don't want to bother you"
"Maddy I'm not going to be able to sleep until you tell me what's wrong are you nervous? It's okay to be nervous, everyone gets nervous"
"I guess I'm nervous but not for the competition I - I'm worried about losing you"
"What Maddy don't be so silly you'll never lose me"
"I guess I'm just scared that I'm distracting you from gymnastics and if you don't get the all around medal you deserve because of me I would hate myself forever and you would hate me and and"
"Maddy stop it I would never hate you, you mean the world to me and I never want to lose you ever now come here and let's get some sleep"
Maddy snuggled up close to Aly feeling much better than she had before and fell asleep very quickly.
Aly on the other hand was stuck in her thoughts 'why would she think I would hate her' 'I would never leave her' 'I love her' 'Wait Aly what you love her? No you need to focus on gymnastics right now love later'
Aly eventually drifted off to sleep but could never get the thought of loving Maddy out of her head. She knew she did, but she didn't know when she should tell her, she didn't want to distract from either of their gymnastics and tomorrow was the team final and they couldn't let their team down.
