"Okay students, it is high time for our school sports day!"

The class cheered. I hope the school organised some good  sports. The last sports day was a bit crappy.

"We'll be going to do lots of fun sports, you'll be paired up with someone, you have to stay with that person, he or she is also your bus seat partner! A team exist of 2 pairs. You will have a total of 4 people in a team."

That was a bit less interesting. What if you get paired up with someone you hate or don't even speak to!

"Everyone, please fill in 3 sports you would like to take part in, we make the pairs based on that. If you don't knoe what sport you want to do, write down random"

I got my paper and thought of which sports I would like to do. I really like soccer. I wasn't really on a club, but I learned it at elemantary school from the other boys. I didn't really like the girls from my class so I went to play soccer and other sports with the boys. That was a fun time. That way I learned soccer in no time, and I even were the best goalkeeper from my class (even though I were the only girl).

I wrote on my paper:
1. Soccer
2. Dodgeball
3. Random

"Hey (y/n)! What did you write down?" my friend asked.

"Soccer of course!"

"That is so like you! I wrote dodgeball and random twice..."

"I have dodgeball too! I hope we're in the same pair or team!"

I went home. I got my soccer shoes and shirt ready.

It was my birthday, my friends gifted me my own soccer shirt and shoes. The shirt had (favorite colour) stripes with white stripes. The shoes were white too. I was very happy with the present, it was the best thing someone ever gifted me.

I took a shower and went to sleep. The pairs would get announced tomorrow.

It was morning. I woke up, put on my clothes, brushed my teeth and had breakfast.

"Bye mom!"

"Bye (pet name your mother calls you)!"

I took my bike and went to school. I saw my friend parking her bike.

"Hey (BFF name)!"

"Hey (y/n)! How are you?"

"I'm good, excited even! The pairs will get announced!"

"Hey (y/n), did you know that (c/n) also chose for dodgeball and soccer"

My heart skipped a beat when I heard (c/n)'s name. Of course he would choose football, I once had a match with him during elementary. He defended his team very well, it was the first match we lost. I liked him ever since. But I don't think he remembers me...

"Oh-ah, really???"

"Yes dummy! Didn't you know he played soccer!? You like him right!?"

I quickly pressed my hand on my friend's mouth.

"Sheeeesh!! Quiet! Someone might hear!"

I released my hand.

"Sorry..." my friend whispered.

"Yes I know he plays soccer, I even had a match with him..."

"Really?!"

"Yes! But he doesn't remember, I think..."
