Cassidy had never been as scared as she was today waiting outside for Lucky to come pick her up , she had thought this would be a good idea and now was the time to rethink that she quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket in an attempt to text Florence that this was a mistake but she forced herself to put her phone down as she saw Luckys car driving down the street, quickly getting up from her spot on the stairs and walking towards the curb.
"Hey Lucky"
"Hey Cass"
"So what movie do you wanna go see"
"Well I was thinking we could go see Suicide Squad"
"And watch you gawk at Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne no thank you"
His laugh made her smile but it also made her more scared to tell him, the worst possible things coming to her mind like him not wanting to be her friend anymore or laughing in her face as she told him
"Okay then since you don't want to see Suicide Squad what about sausage party"
"Sure that sounds good"
Lucky and Cassidy made there way to the seats drinks and popcorn in hand and the more time went on the more Cassidy grew nervous but she knew it had to be done she just had to wait for the perfect moment and as she watched the movie and laughed along with everyone else she wasn't so nervous but as the movie drew to a close and the buzzing of her phone didn't stop (most likely texts from her best friend wondering if she was going to do it or not) she suddenly became more nervous and once the credits rolled and she stopped Lucky from getting up from his seats suddenly she felt like she was going to throw up or trip or anything else worse then what she was about to do
"Hey Lucky you know what's a good line in a song"
"What" an amusing look on his face as she talked
"My best friends brother is the one for me"
"Did you just quote a kids show"
"Maybe but let's be real those kids shows clearly still know what's up"
"So who's brother do you like"
"Do you have a sister?"
"Yeah she's your best friend reme-oh"
"Yeah"
Once that final word left her mouth she quickly got up from the seat and speed walked out of the theater to avoid seeing Lucky in the best way she could despite the fact that he after all was her ride home , so maybe her way of telling him wasn't the best and at the very least she could have told Florence to be ready to pick her up but none of that had occurred to her until it was too late and as she saw Lucky exit the theater and spot her easily she added one more regret to her list of things she fucked up today.
Cassidy attempted to try and walk away from him but was only pulled back to him as he looked down at her something about it all made her feel so weird and as he grabbed her chin so she would look at him she suddenly realized why she felt so weird because she was hopelessly in love with Lucky and for some reason she hadn't realized this until she was looking into his eyes as he smiled at her, then suddenly he was leaning in and she was perfectly okay with it she wasn't nervous she wasn't freaking out over the fact that this was her best friends brother and as they kissed Cassidy managed to be pushed against the wall of movie posters with Lucky towering over her and finally it came the time for them to pull away for air both gasping for breath
"So that was"
"Intense?"
"Yeah"
"I should probably get you home"
"Yeah"
"Are you just gonna say yeah for the rest of the night"
"Ye- i mean no I'm good I'm perfectly fine now"
"You sure about that"
"Yeah god damn it Lucky" all Lucky did was smile at her
"Okay okay let's go to the car"
"Woah woah wait we still have something to talk about cause you never you know said if you liked me back or not"
"I thought the kiss explained that"
"I want you to say it"
Lucky moved closer to Cassidy grabbing her hand and then looking into her eyes
"I like you Cass" and that made Cassidy smile brightly
"Okay we can go home now also forgot to mention I'm going to your house"
"sleepover with Florence?"
"Sleepover with Florence"
