"Everything here is placed and planned perfectly. That's why it works. All the messages go through a system. All the travelers, trackers, legends, everyone, go through a process. First it's training of power (TOP) then training of assignment (TOA) and that's it. After everyone just works"

"That doesn't sound very exciting"

"Oh sure. But we still do normal people stuff. We may be different but that doesn't mean anything. It's like regular jobs once your off you get to do what you want. We act like a community but were all apart if different things. Everyone has their own homes and other jobs. Very few actually have a life that revolves around their powers and all of this."

"Ok so what does everyone do?"

"Lots of things......everything. You have the design network, they create out form of communication and travel and they practically keep the whole system running. Trackers, they go out and find others like us, sometimes they watch a certain person for..... reasons. Legends, like Julie make sure everyone follows the basics, they are like regulators and rule watchers. Then you have travelers, they go to other communities when in need. There are plenty more jobs like trainers and engineers but to many to explain. Overall our goal is to use our abilities to contribute to the world around us. But that takes time and work and mostly lies." Cassandra explained.

I understood this.... sort of. It was a lot to processes but it made sense.

"So what does anything have to do with me. Besides you being my..... parent" I could see her cringe a little, but I couldn't help it. It was weird calling a stranger my mother.

"I should probably explain your father." I scoffed

" You should probably explain Teresa"

" Yes I suppose that to. Well you see your father and I fell in love" she proceeded to tell me the story I've heard thousands of times but I didn't stop her.

"But your father became an awful man. He was against the whole system, even though he to had the power. He started a protest group. He would have brought everything down. I knew I had to do something but at the time he wasn't breaking any law so I couldn't lock him up. Then he left. He took you with him. I didn't know where he went. All I know is I sent someone after him, and she told me she found him with you. Then she proceeded with the plan, which is what I insisted on for your safety. She made him fall in love with her then they got married. She made lots of sacrifices under my order. Your sisters are hers. But after so long he found out she was working for me. It got ugly and that's how the rest happened." I could tell she has never told this story before.

" Why? Why didn't you come after me? Why didn't you get me sooner?" I was angry and wasn't sure if I could believe this woman.

" You have to under stand I'm the head of all this. I couldn't just leave it. It was my job." She responded calmly. But that isn't a reason to leave your daughter with supposedly a bad man. And why now? what does she need me for. Instead of asking these I asked

"What power do I have?" I saw something flicker on her eyes. Like excitement.

"Fire"
