FOSTER
So, where are you guys headed?
LIVELY
We're headed down to Philly for
another shoot.
REYNOLDS
Yeah, it's her biggest one yet
I think it'll make you and Sebastian
very happy
FOSTER
I'm glad she's having fun doing what
she's doing, but right now it's so hard
to be happy. I got a call from my dad's
doctor today and things aren't looking
good. He's not gonna last that much
longer, I'm afraid.
REYNOLDS
God, I'm so sorry Rey
FOSTER
The worst part about it all is that
he lied to me. He tried to tell me
that he was getting better to keep
me from worrying but he lied. I guess
I should've known though. Once you
get lung cancer and get it diagnosed,
it's hard to get rid of. They don't classify
it as a terminal illness for just any reason.
LIVELY
I really do hate this for you...
FOSTER
Yeah, I hate this for me too
LIVELY
Where's Sebastian?
FOSTER
Crying in my old bedroom. I think
it's just starting to hit him. He was a
wreck when mom passed and I think
it's hurting him worse knowing that
it hasn't been long since we lost her and
now we're losing dad too.
REYNOLDS
Makes sense, Matt is basically his
second father
FOSTER
You're not wrong. And he was closer
to my dad than he was to my mom. I
know he doesn't wanna see him go.
REYNOLDS
Neither do you.
FOSTER
I know...but right now I'm trying to
hold it together so I can take care of
both of them.
LIVELY
That's how Sebastian was a couple
weeks ago when you were an emotional
wreck.
REYNOLDS
I think the symmetry behind this is
absolutely beautiful.
FOSTER
We're there for each other always, and
that is something that will never change.
LIVELY
I admire that.
FOSTER
Have a safe trip, you guys. I'm off to
watch Age of Adaline with my dear
father. Maybe I can coax Sebastian
out of my room long enough for him to
watch it with us.
REYNOLDS
Why watch that though? Why don't you
watch something a little more upbeat
and spirited?
FOSTER
Dad says Blake's voice is quite calming
and quite peaceful and that's what he
needs at the moment
LIVELY
I love your dad
FOSTER
He loves you too, babe
Just as Sebastian and I do too
REYNOLDS
Ouch
FOSTER
You know we love you, Ryan. But
I'll talk to you guys soon, okay?
LIVELY
