Chapter 40
"Stop!" a voice cried. We looked up to see Alex, his father, Edwin, Chad and about thirty other crew members were standing there with swords and guns raised. "Put your weapons down!" Alex's father cried. The captain and the first mate did as they were told and they raised their hands into the air. Some crew members walked up to them and tied them up. Alex and his father walked up to me and Ky and Alex undid Ky's bonds. I wrapped my arms around Ky and hugged him. Ky put his lips onto mine. Tears streamed down my face.
Alex cleared his throat but we didn't stop. "Oh Alexander let them be." his father said. I started laughing and stopped kissing Ky. Ky wiped a tear from my eyes that had fallen and he smiled.
"I love you." he said.
"I love you." I ran and hugged Alex and his father.
"Thank you for saving us." I said to them when I was done.
"Anytime." Alex said grinning. "How did you do it?" So I told them everything. Right there.
"Wow Serena! That was clever. How did you know we would show up?" his father asked.
"I didn't. I really hoped you would." I said.
"It's a good thing we did. We almost didn't make it in time. It's a good thing that Edwin and Chad showed up when they did or we would probably no be here right now." Alex said. "Let's get you two back home shall we?" Ky and I both nodded and I quickly ran to give Edwin and Chad a hug.
"Thank you both so much." I told them. They smiled and hugged me back.
"Anytime Serena." Edwin said.
"You're welcome. Are you ready to be captain of our ship once again?" Chad asked. I smiled and nodded.
"Let's go." I looked over at Ky. He was hugging Edwin. I didn't even notice that Edwin had left us and went to see Ky. They both had tears in their eyes. I smiled, and longed for my own family.
"Let's go guys." Alex said and we all nodded. I ran over to Ky and grabbed his hand. "Let's go. Our crews await us." he smiled and squeezed my hand. I quickly picked up the sword that was from the stone and held it in my hand.
"What are you doing Serena?" Ky asked.
"We need to see what is in here." I said. Ky smiled and nodded.
"We will be right back. We are going to see what is in here." I said. Everybody nodded and Ky and I both ran into the cave. Torches instantly lit up when we entered. I smiled. This is amazing. We continued walking when we reached the main part of the cave. Sitting on a pedestal was a crown.
"That's it?" Ky said. I elbowed him lightly in the arm. "What?" I ignored him and approached the crown I lifted it up and gasped. "I didn't know this was here! It's the missing crown from my family! It's been gone for generations. In the book that I read to you yesterday says that whoever finds it truly is the true heir to the throne." I said. He gave me a weird look. "You fell asleep remember?" I said. He nodded.
"Yep now I remember. Shall we go?" I nodded and together me and Ky exited the cave. Alex smiled when he saw what I found but didn't press it.
Chad handed me a bag to put it in and I slipped the crown in there. I put the bag around my shoulders so it was resting against my leg.
"Let's go." I said. We followed Alex and his father back to shore. Both mine and Ky's crew were there waiting for us. They cheered when they saw us. My crew came running up to me and clasping me on the back. Ky let go of me and let me get congratulated for saving there lives. (Aren't I sweet?) Steve appeared and jumped into my arms.
