"I didn't know it was that big."
"Well, it's probably been a while since you've last seen it."
"Yeah. I've always wanted to do this with someone special."
"Me too."
The park was in no doubt huge.
There were so many different types of trees surrounding the narrow dirt pathways. A pond was glistering in the distance reflecting the sunset perfectly almost as if its made for just that. A breathtaking view was engulfing both boys, helping them lose themselves and forget everything for mere moments. At this moment they didn't care about anything but each other – no titles, no past, no conflicts – there was nothing. It was as if the peacefulness of the place has completely stolen all of it away.
Jinyoung smiled at Mark. He could never fully understand how a person could ever hold such beauty like the man before him. This man... His man.
Mark pretended he never saw the lingering gaze of the other focused on his features. He was all too busy drowning in his own thoughts about the human perfection that was Jinyoung. His Jinyoung.
"So, you brought me to a park again because..?" The younger finally spoke averting his eyes towards the horizon.
"You don't remember this place? Geez, you really are growing old." Mark shook his head in fake disappointment earning a light push that was enough to make him lose some of his balance and stumble a bit.
"Shut up. You're like a decade old." Jinyoung joked back both of them feeling like the mood was finally well... like how it should've been from the start.
"I guess we're spending the night out," The elder decided groaning as he pulled his partner to god knows where, "Since I have to remind you of everything we did here."
Truth to be told, Jinyoung remembered every second he spent with Mark in this place when they were younger. He was just really looking forward to hearing it again from his perspective. So, he went along and let himself get dragged near a tree.
"What is all this?" Jinyoung giggled looking at all the items placed in front of him shocked at their sudden appearance.
It wasn't anything fancy – just a picnic basket and a blanket but it made the raven haired male feel so bubbly he wouldn't be surprised if he let out another giggle anytime soon. Before that could happen he took his time in observing the details – like how the timing was just right. It was about 6pm now so it was perfect time for dinner and an even more perfect warm night that could easily be spend outside.
It was all too perfect in Jinyoung's mind.
Mark on the other hand was holding his hand squeezing from time to time, enthusiastic to show everything he prepared for their special date. Because yes, Mark Tuan specifically took his time to cook every piece of food in that basket, wrapped every napkin around the little sandwiches and bought some desserts. Let's say making cupcakes wasn't as easy as he thought and Youngjae wasn't very helpful either.
"When did you have time to do all this?" Jinyoung asked another question slowly sitting down on the warm blanket his mouth still open from amazement.
"When I decided that I can't let you slip away. Not anymore." Mark said bringing their intertwined hands closer to his face and kissing Jinyoung's faintly.
The younger blushed looking away, "That was horribly cheesy but why does it make me so fluttery?"
"Wait til you taste all this stuff. I swear I really thought I'll never have to search things in a recipe book but internet seemed too complicated. I would've looked up a tutorial on YouTube but I didn't really have much time. Youngjae wanted to help by the way but he ended up breaking a bowl so I shooed him out and decided to do it myself... But don't worry, he wasn't sad he said it himself it was better if he didn't cook—"
Maybe it was the time of the day but Jinyoung found himself admiring Mark once again. He was lost in the words the other boy was managing to get out in unnatural speed. The younger has always enjoyed listening to Mark's voice but since he was quiet most of the time Jinyoung didn't get to satisfy his wish all that much throughout years. But now seemed different – much like all his wishes were finally coming true.
"Are you...listening?"
"That's all I've been doing," The younger replied softly but then realized this probably sounded way too creepy, "I-I mean, I see you've put a lot of effort into choosing the ingredients and picking the meals yourself—"
Before he could finish his thoughts which didn't even made sense he was met with warmth all too familiar to be forgiven after such a long time. Mark's lips were softer like how they've always been pressing only slightly over his own.
It started off slow as they moved in sync as if they've been doing this for years. They melted into each other's presence completely ignoring their surroundings.
And once they finally let go, it was Jinyoung who spoke up first as he was glaring at Mark's present smirk, "That was uncalled for."
"But you loved it."
"But I loved it." Jinyoung sighed.
