  Mystic Falls Town Square
The next day Cassie pulled into the square and Elena and Bonnie were already handing out pamphlets. "Night of the comet! Would you like a program?" Bonnie asked a random person. Cassie got out of her car and ran over to them. "Okay give me some! I wanna help!" Cassie said grabbing some of Elena's and Bonnie's programs. "Hey, where have you been? I called you twice yesterday." Elena said snippily. "I had some car trouble, a friend picked me up and we went and got food till my car was fixed." Cassie answered quickly. "Aw Cas, I would've come gotten you. Who picked you up?" Elena asked curious. Cassie looked at the programs as if she were reading them. "Oh, Stefan's older brother Damon." Cassie says with a smile. "Damon? When did you meet Damon?" Elena asked confused. "Yesterday, when my car broke down." Elena gave her a 'and' look. "He saw me waiting for a tow, told me who he was and offered me a ride, which I took." She said with a duh tone. "So you took a ride from a complete stranger?" Bonnie asked a little confused. "If you wanna put it that way; then yeah, I guess I did." Cassie replied with a shrug. "Wait, how do you know Damon?" Cassie asked Elena. 

She couldn't wait to hear her answer. "Well, after you took off yesterday, I left as well to go see Stefan but he wasn't home. Damon was and he told me a lot." Elena said sounding a little annoyed. "I feel like this has something to do with an ex gf..." Cassie was fishing. She wanted to see if Elena would tell her the truth. "Basically, he's on the rebound and has raging family issues." Elena said trying to get off the subject. Cassie just made an O shape with her mouth and Bonnie changed the subject. "He hasn't called, huh?" Bonnie asked. "Or text. But I realized we never even exchanged that stuff. We've never gotten to the texting part." Elena said sadly. "That's an important milestone in any relationship." Bonnie stated. "Isn't it? The timing is wrong, anyway." Elena said shaking her head. Cassie couldn't believe what she was hearing. "When is it ever right?" Bonnie asked Elena. Cassie remained silent as the two began to argue. "I'm not ready, Bonnie." Elena said shaking her head. "Who is?" They stopped walking. "At least I put myself out there." Elena raised her voice. Cassie stood still and just listened. "Is that what you're calling it?" Bonnie narrowed her eyes. Elena looked at the floor. "What do you mean?" Elena kept her gaze low but eventually met Bonnie's eyes. "All I'm hearing is reasons why you can't". Bonnie said shrugging. Elena rolled her eyes, nodded slightly and the girls began walking again. Cassie begins to follow behind when she spots Damon staring at someone. She looks to where he is looking and sees Caroline walking towards him. Caroline suddenly stops. Cassie looks and Damon's gone.

Cassie is riddled with confusion. She could've sworn she saw Damon two seconds ago. She looks around again before walking into the Grill. As she walks in she sees Jeremy talking to Vicki and hand her a pill bottle. She storms over. "Could you two be more obvious?!" She asks grabbing the bottle out of Jeremy's hand. "Cas, chill! She's in pain." Jeremy replies grabbing the bottle out of her hand and giving it to Vicki. "You're gonna get arrested!" As Cassie says this Tyler walks over. "Hey, Vick. How you feeling?" He asked blatantly ignoring Jeremy and Cassie. "Like you care." Vicki said and storms off, leaving the three in an awkward silence. "What are you looking at Gilbert?" Tyler gives Jeremy a dirty look. Jeremy smirks and walks away. "You say one word about what you saw Tyler... You're gonna regret it." Cassie said and walked off.
