Chapter Six

It was Tuesday afternoon and I was on my way to my friend's house from school.

"Did you hear what was found at the abandoned castle this morning?" April asked.

"Huh?"

"I asked you if you heard what was found at the abandoned castle this morning." April repeated.

"No. What?"

"Some girl's ripped t-shirt. No one knows who was up there or why there was a t-shirt left on the ground of the ball room." April informed.

Uh oh.. I forgot about my t-shirt!

"Really? Wow." I tried to act surprised. 

In reality, I was angry with myself. I saw Ethan. He nodded to signal that he had heard about it too.

My phone beeped and I looked at who texted me.

Ethan: It's been taken care of. One problem. Rumors have spread too far.

Great.

"Where are you going?" 

"Sorry April. I need to talk to Ethan about something." I replied.

"But what about tonight?"

"I can't go. Something came up."

"But-"

"I really am sorry April. Another time maybe."    

I felt so bad for ditching her but I had to ask Ethan about my t-shirt.

I caught up with my brother.

Thank god I haven't seen Ash all day. I had a feeling that he was purposely avoiding me but to be honest, that was a blessing for me.

"What did you do?" I questioned.

"Oh. I just took the evidence and got rid of it. But like I said, the rumors have spread too far to just spell people. We'd have to cast a spell over the entire city and get rid of anything on the internet and social media. Dad says just to leave it as no one has pictures and the t-shirt is gone." Ethan explained.

"Ok.. I just hope your right."

"Relax. Justin and Kelly are checking for any pictures but so far, so good."

I let out a sigh.

"Are you over what happened?" Ethan questioned, concerned.

"About being raped by a demon? Not really. But at least I'm kept busy with pretending to be human." I whispered.

"Well, that's better than nothing."

"I just want to get home before I somehow end up seeing Ash."

"Right. Let's go."

I got into the car. Ethan was driving.

I stared out the window and watched people, animals and buildings went by.

As we stopped at a pair of lights, I sensed someone familiar. 

Ash is near. 

Ethan seemed to have sensed Ash too because I saw him use magic to change the red light to green.

As we drove past, I saw a figure shrouded in shadows.

I shuddered then concentrated on forgetting him.

Each time I saw Ash or even caught a glimpse, I felt drawn to him.

What has he done to me now?
