--First of all, this is my FIRST Wattpad story :D Yayyy. It's probably going to be a little shorter than I hoped for, well at least this chapter will be.
(To the side you have a picture of Del)

Coughing, just coughing. A major part of Del's everyday life, that and humility. Del doesn't speak, by choice of course. Relationships come rarely for her, and for several reasons. One, she doesn't like men, and two: not speaking can cause problems in any relationship.
So, today she was surprised when the girl with purple hair sat with her at lunch.
"You looked lonely." She said. Del just nodded and kept her eyes on the girl.
"I'm Mina" She spoke again. Del grabbed one of her notebooks and wrote 'I'm Del.' Mina just stared at her with a blank expression.
"You don't speak..." She stated with an odd look on her face. 'Here comes the goodbye.' Del thought to herself. To her amusement Mina didn't move, but used sign language. With her hands she told Del about her mother and how she was deaf. Del smiled sadly and said she was sorry and that it was sad. Mina smiled.
"It's alright, you can hear though right?" Del nodded in response.
"Cool," The bell rang. "I'll see you tomorrow then." She said. Mina grabbed Del's notebook and wrote down her skype name. "Video chat me sometime." Mina said before leaving.
Del sighed, for the first time in a long time someone actually made the attempt to communicate with her like a real person. Sporting a smile on her face she hurried home and up to her room.
