"You're joking right?"
"Woah."
"Holy shit that's awesome."
After Ashton had said we were soulmates, the boys were so excited they wouldn't shut up. I myself was also still in shock. And kind of dizzy. The sudden colors were overwhelming. Everything was spinning. I think I need to go sit down. Or maybe even lay down.
"Athena."
I broke out of my thoughts and looked at Calum.
"Do you think I'm even hotter now that you can see my face in color?"
"No Calum honestly, you're even uglier now."
Lies. I'm lying. Calum Hood is one of the hottest humans alive. Now that I see his face in color, I think he was even hotter. He had slightly tanned skin and beautiful dark brown eyes. With is jet black hair and jawline that could cut glass, I think Calum can destroy the mind and feelings of every girl.
"Yo Cal, lay off my soulmate would ya?" Ashton said jokingly while wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
I froze.
His touch was warm. I swear someone needs to take me away before I fall in love with this boy.
"Do you guys want some time to talk?" Luke asked.
I thought about it. "Yes."
Ashton looked at me. "Are you sure because sometimes I can be way too sexy to handle by yourself."Boy
I roll my eyes. I can see why Luke likes this guy as a friend. They're exactly the same.
"You guys should go get a coffee or something. Y'know maybe just talk about how you're destined to sleep to-"
Ashton stopped him. "Okay we get it." He turns and faces me. "Coffee good?"
"Sounds good." I agree even though on the inside, I'm not ready at all.

The car journey was quiet. I don't like quiet. Sometimes quiet is violent. I mean, it wasn't completely quiet. I found out that Ashton had a great choice in music. But without any conversations, it was a silence to me.
Ashton pulled into the Starbucks car park. I had learned that the logo was a green color. I only knew because of the sign. Public places usually had signs that named an object and what color it is. People who have just met their soulmates, don't know the colors and the names, so this is how they learn.
Ashton and I walked in and got in line. It was still quiet. Ash was messing around on his phone. I look over his shoulder and spy on what he's doing. He's playing fucking Cut the Rope. He can't make conversation but he can play a children's game? I sigh. Boys.
Once it was finally our turn to pay for our overpriced drinks, Ashton and I actually ended up getting the same thing. Iced Coffee. We walk away with our drinks and try to find table to sit at. Ashton points at a booth in the back corner while slurping his drink.
"That one okay?" He asked.
I nod.
He slides into one side of the booth while I sit across him on the other side. It's quiet. We both just sit there slurping on the straws of our drinks.
"So.." I break the silence.
He smiles, "Hey soulmate."
Damn that smile was beautiful.
He continues, "So how do we do this whole 'omg we're soulmates' thing?"
I shrug. "This is my first time."
He chuckles. This boy was perfect I swear.
It was quiet once again. I take this as a chance check out Ashton.
He was honestly the hottest person I have ever seen. I'll admit Luke, Calum and Michael were super hot but there was just something about Ashton that just stood out. I don't know if it was because the soulmate thing or his damn hazel eyes. Or maybe even those dimples. Or his laugh which was probably an angel singing. And the curly hair. Ashton Irwin is an angel I swear.
"Okay." Ashton says, putting down his drink. "This shouldn't be awkward. We're soulmates. It's you and I for life."
I smile. "For life?"
He nods seriously, "For life. Anyway, I don't want to just jump into a relationship. What if that doesn't work out? What if you end up hating me?"
I couldn't see that happening but I nod anyway. "Yeah I understand."
Ash continues, "I think we just start out as friends. Y'know, get to know each other a little. I know nothing about you besides the fact that you're name is Athena and you're my soulmate."
I think it through. He has a point. What if a relationship doesn't work?
I agree. "Friends?"
He grins. "Friends."

It's been two hours and we were still sitting in the Starbucks booth. I had learned so much about Ashton.
Such as, he was born in July. He was done with high school but was taking a break for a year before starting college. His middle name is Fletcher. He has two younger siblings. He had got his first drum kit when he was 8. He used to work KFC. I could go on forever.
"Okay." Ashton said. "What's your favorite color that you've seen so far?"
I think about the colors I've seen so far. "Blue," I finally say, "You?"
"Red."
"Why?"
I personally didn't like that color. It wasn't the most appealing.
"I don't know. That color is just bright and it stands out in a crowd of dull colors. If I was to look into a bunch of colors, the first I'll see is red."
I nod understandingly. "Okay, my turn to ask a question.'
I think about it.
"Um... tell me a random fact about yourself."
Without hesitation he answers, "I don't like going commando because you need the support."
I burst out laughing.
Ashton protests, "C'mon it's true! It's like a girl not wearing anything over her, you know.." He makes gestures to his chest.
I had tears in my eyes of laughter.
"Oh my God Ashton."
"It's true!" He exclaims.
Ashton glances down at his phone, reading a text while I was trying to collect myself.
"The boys want us back. They want to film the video we were supposed to film earlier. Clearly they didn't expect us to take this long."
I nod. "Yeah let's go."
As we walk out the door, I smile. Maybe having Ashton Irwin as a soulmate, was just what I needed.
