Worth the Wait

Party preps.

I woke up to my mobile ringing.At first I was confused as to where I was and then remembered all the unexpected events of yesterday.

I sighed in sadness.

I looked over at my phone and saw 4 miss calls from an unknown number.I frowned.Who could it be?

I jumped up,startled when the the same number popped up again.

"Hello?"

"Niaaaaaaaaaaa!"

The high-pitched feminine voice was very familiar.I just couldn't remember.

"Umm yeah?I'm sorry but who is this?"

"So you forgot everything?I know its been like 7 years but come on,Nia. Remember we planned that after these 7 years we would be meeting up for a brunch with our hubbies and just like we were best friends,even they would be and we all would live happily ever after!"

"OH MY GOD!BRITTNEY?"

"I thought you forgot my name too.Praise the Lord!"

I chuckled.Just like olden times.We were high school besties and then parted ways promising to keep in touch but it din't happen.

Its only after that,I met Kiara.

Brit was my first best friend.

"Brit,where are you sucker?You din't even call me once in these 7 years and how are you doing?Are you dating someone?Are you still extra thin like before?And..."

"NIA!"

"What?"

"Calm down,girl.This is why I called you.You remember Nick?"

Nick.That definitely rings a bell.Oh.Wait.Shawn's best friend.

"Yeah he was in our school.Our senior."

"Well...we fell in love and married."

"Whaaaat?Really?"

"Yeaah."

Wow.That was another surprise.

"Congrats Brit!I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks babe!One more thing."

"Yeah?"

"We are here in Texas now.So Nick decided to hold a school reunion party so that we could all meet.And you are also coming."

What?A school reunion?Shawn.He would be there.No.I can't go.

"Brit,I can't...."

"Tomorrow at my place.I will send you the address.No excuses.You are coming."

She cut it.She cut the freaking call.What the flipping hell!

I was scared.What if he does something there?

I hear the front door opening and someone coming in.I don't even have to guess the person.

"Niaaa babe!You din't tell me anything about yesterday.So Shawn and you did something?Got naughty?"Ki put on her usual naught smirk on.

I din't know what to tell.Sometime or the other,I will have to tell her.So here goes nothing.

"Well...he told me to f*ck off.He said that he doesn't care for me."Fresh tears sprang in my eyes.I told her everything from the moment I saw him till I retired to sleep.She listened to everything patienly.No.I would say she was dangerously calm.I was expecting a thunderstorm.A huge thunderstorm.

"THAT SON OF A B*TCH.I SWEAR I WILL CUT HIS D*CK AND STAPLE IT TO HIS FOREHEAD."

"Ki.Ki.Calm down!"I sighed for like the fiftieth time."He was right only.I was the sole cause of this.That day if I had acted maturely,nothing of this sort wold have happened."

"But he has no freaking right to talk to you like that."

"Leave it,Ki.By the way, tomorrow I have to go to this school reunion which I really don't want to go but my school bestie called and din't give me an option.Actually you and Brit are like of the same species.Same temper.Same language.Same madness.You both would love each other."

"Then fix a date for me with her."She said seriously.

No.My best friend cannot be a lesbian.Is she?She din't even tell me.

"Look at your face!"She buckled over with laughter."I swear.Anybody can fool you!"

Thank God.I gave her a glare which ultimately turned into me also laughing along with her.

The next day

I was beyond frustrated.This girl and her tactics.

"NIA GREENE.Can you stop stooping and let me do your hair?"

"I don't like putting so much makeup and doing the hair with so much effort."

"I don't care what you think.My prime motto is that when Shawn sees you,he should regret whatever he had said to you the day before.I bet he will get turned on by just seeing you."

"Ki,but this dress is too short."

I was putting one of Ki's dress which was a beautiful turqouise summer dress that reached a little bit above my mid-thighs.It was sleeveless,high-necked and tightened around my waist and showed off some skin due to the lace pattern and then it just flowed till the end.She paired it with my 4-inch white stilettos.

She had done a smoky eye with some mascara and eye-liner.My lips were coated in a pink lipstick which was very pretty.She then decided to straighten my whole hair and then curl it in the ends.

After all her work was done,she pushed me in front of the mirror only for me to be stunned.

Wow.She had done a pretty good job.I looked very different and pretty than before.I chuckled.The wonders make-up could do!

I looked at my watch.I had to leave now so as to not be late and anger Brit.I hugged Ki and muttered a thanks and grabbed my keys and left for the party.

While driving,my thoughts were only about him.It's just so surprising.

How much ever you hurt me and how much ever you broke me,there is not and will never be another person I think about more than you.
