Is She... Downstairs?

I was struggling to get out of the hospital bed when all of the sudden I heard a noise and sat up heavily breathing in my bed at home. Had I just awaken from a dream inside of a dream.. and, wow, did I feel nauseous! I got up and I went to check on Avery. I thought I heard her moving around a little. I walked down the hallway *creak creak* "Damn, these floors!" I slowly cracked the door to her room until it was almost open.

No Avery. No Avery? No Avery!

Where was she!? I heard her. She was in here, in her crib, but she isn't there. Not under the blankets not under the sheet. No where. There was no sound. Then I heard a faint cry of a little girl, Kenzie? It sounded like her cry, but she wouldn't be here.. he took her. His name was Adam. Wait... I remember from before when I woke up to Avery crying I walked passed Kenzie's old room.. she was sleeping because I could hear her breath when things went silent.

I ran to check in Kenzie's room as fast as I could run! The crying got louder and then she screamed, "MOMMY!" and I ran in the room and yelled back her name. "KENZIE WHERE ARE YOU!?!" I turned the light on, there was blood everywhere. When I blink and reopened my eyes it was all cleaned. What is going on!? 

I look back up to find Kenzie, I knew she couldn't be here but she was! I saw her, but he was there too. "A-" I tried to say his name but I couldn't. "Yes its me AJ. Adam. I'm sorry for Kenzie screaming, she was excited and then started crying. We were going to surprise you in the morning." "Adam where is Av-" "She is here. Kenzie's watching her on the bed. Please try not to worry. I know it's been a whole year but I've been thinking a lot an-" I couldn't help myself and I hugged him, everything went silent. He continued more fearful but then I let go, and the sound returned. "-d Kenzie and I both miss you more than we'd ever hope to admit." 

Then he paused before continuing, "Kenzie loves you, and she wanted to see you." "Then why are y-" "I love you.. and I wanted to see you Ally Jay. I didn't know what I was doing when I walked away fr-" *screech* "Its happening again! This isn't real, is it? No no no no!" Adam grabbed Kenzie and Avery. Then there was another screech, closer and it was saying my name again. "AJ WHATS GOING ON?" he was yelling. Kenzie was also frightened, she was only four. "Mommy!!!!!" 

Then out of nowhere all you heard was a faint "boo" and the lights went out. Adam squeezed the kids against him and held out his hand trying to find me. I reached my hand out and touched his and he pulled me in. "Adam?" he responded from.. across the room? I tried to push away and I started yelling for help but it lifted me up and the lights went on again. 

"AJ?!?" "Daddy wheres mommy!?!" Everything was silent, absolutely everything.. was silent. Then they heard a faint scream from the basement. It was me of course. "hELP ME PLEASE HELP ME!!!" I couldn't see but I heard them coming down the stairs. "Is she down here? I don't see her. Maybe sh-" then the.. whatever it was.. the.. the THING.. it made a fake scream from upstairs so I started yelling. "No please NO NO DON't go pleasE DON'T GO!!!" They heard me and opened the box it put me in. Adam grabbed Kenzie and lifted her up. I took the baby from her and we ran out of the house, never to return. All you heard was a high pitched scream following and then the doors slammed and it was quiet once more.
