I originally intended to give Ki the Wind-Wind Devil fruit, but then I realized that meant that all 4 of the Knight Pirates would be unable to swim, so if one of them were to fall in to the ocean that was the end of it.
So I decided to keep Ki devil fruit free so that way when either Aisuru or Aka or the occasional Aoi fell in to sea, she could save them.
