Chapter 3: I See An Ocean

Alexander

Next day was a rough and hard day. I kept bumping into people and most of them was not their day at all. Good thing that Isaac came in time and led me the way to my classes. I usually take out my phone and Isaac clicked the record button to record the classes. That's a way to take notes for me. Right now it's 5 pm. This time I have my white cane. Isaac and I are walking to the lunch room. The lunch room is not like from high schools, middle schools, or elementary lunchrooms from what I heard. It's actually kind of nice. Isaac made me wait so I sat down on a chair. As soon as Isaac came, I got more hungry because of the delicious smell.

"Okay, I bought 2 subways sandwiches, a pepsi for me, and a powerade for you," he said as I heard him place the food down on the table. I smiled and sat up. We started eating and as soon as we finished, we stood up and threw away the food. I started to turn around to start walking to my dorm, but again I bumped into someone. I suddenly felt wet on my chest and my left arm. I heard a gasp coming from a girl. I still heard everyone else doing whatever they were doing so I don't think that there is any audience. "Oh great! I am very sorry! I didn't know where I was going!" The girl exclaimed. I just tried to smile even if I am kind of annoyed of bumping into everyone right now. "It's okay. Don't worry," I calmly said.

"Here I have some napkins," the girl said. I rose my hand up to grab them, but I couldn't feel them. I moved my hand a bit higher and I finally felt it. I grabbed it, but I felt someone took my napkin away and cleaned my shirt with it. "Thanks," I heard Isaac said. I am guessing that he was the one that took my napkin away. "But couldn't he-" another voice that belonged to a girl started to say, but immediately stopped. "Oh. Okay," the girl said. Isaac led me the way outside the building. "What did I told you? I knew that you were someday going to meet the new student," Isaac said as soon as I didn't heard the lunchroom's voices. "Wait, that was her? How is she like?" I asked. I heard Isaac chuckle. "Well, she has blonde hair and light brown eyes. She also had her friend with her. Dark brown hair and dark brown eyes," Isaac said nonchalantly. I nodded.

˜˜˜˜˜

I stood up from my bed. "I just remembered that I have to give some papers to Mr. Fitzegarld. I'll be right back," I said. I heard Isaac immediately stand up. "I could help you lead the way," Isaac quickly said. I shook my head and kindly smiled. "No, I will try to go by myself. If I don't come back in 10 minutes, you could look for me," I said reassuringly. I heard Isaac sigh. "Okay fine. I will actually put a timer that it's 10 minutes!" Isaac exclaimed. I chuckled and nodded. I made my way to the door, opened it, and as soon as I got out, I closed it.

Mr. Fitzegarld is one of the Music teachers. He is a very nice, funny, and calm person. He knows how to play most of the instruments, but his main one is the guitar. He is one of my teachers from my classes. He knows me and understands the situation I am in, so he is patient with me. After some long minutes, I finally made it to the Arts building. I opened the door and was met with a huge warm wave. I got in and heard a lot of instruments playing different notes, different music. I kept walking until one caught my ear. It was a violin playing a very soft and kind of slow song. I stayed there, admiring at the sound of the violin. Since a long time ago, an instrument caught my ear. This one, I feel it's special. Like if it's just not any song. As I am hearing this song, I could see an ocean. Well, imagining it, I guess. The oceans waves seem strong far away, but when the wave gets closer, it calms down. I could hear the sound of the ocean's waves crashing as it gets to the ground. I smiled.

Suddenly, the noise and the violin stopped. My eyes widened as soon as I noticed that the person stopped playing. He or she could probably see me eavesdropping. I started to walk away, but I heard footsteps running to me. "Hey! It's you," a familiar girl's voice exclaimed as she grabbed my wrist. I stopped walking, I don't even know why. "Um hey?" I said to her, sounding more than a question than a statement. "You probably wouldn't recognize me. I was the one who bumped into you in lunch," she said. Oh right. "Oh," I said. I don't know what to say right now so that only came out of my mouth. "Yeah, sorry about that again. I didn't saw you. I was busy talking to my friend," she quickly said. I nodded and I was about to walk away until she stopped me.

"Hey, um, I know this would sound weird, but what is your name?" she asked cautiously. Like if saying my name to a student would do any damage. They would probably forget my name. "Alexander, why?" I asked curiously. "Oh, I just wanted to know you a bit more. You know, kind of like friends or something. By the way, my name is Evelyn," she said excitedly. I frowned and my eyebrows furrowed. "Why? No one actually told me to be friends, except Isaac," I said. I am very confused on why is this happening. "Oh, well, I just have this feeling that I can't ignore, to be friends with you," she said in a very blunt voice.

"Well, ignore it. It will be hard to be my friend," I said harshly at her. "Nope, I am not ignoring it! I will be able to do it! I know I can," she said excitedly. I sighed and shook my head. "Okay, now, since we are kind of friends, let's talk about you," she said. I frowned and shook my head. "Why do you want to know about me?" I asked suddenly. "Because friends are supposed to know each other," she said as it was the easiest thing to do. "No." I walked away as soon as I said that.
