A/N: I apologise for the delay. I've had this written for a few days now, I just never got round to uploading it. So, here it is. There's a stunning picture of Magnus Bane above, accompanied by Chicago by The Icarus Account.

"Alec." a hushed voice woke Alec from his sleep, along with a gentle nudge to the shoulder. Alec grunted and rolled over, only to be shushed by the voice. Alec slid his eyes open and for a moment, couldn't see anything, only darkness. His eyes adjusted and in his line of sight, was the blondie that he'd put to bed earlier.
"Whaa?" Alec slurred, only to be hushed again.
"Max is still asleep." Jace whispered.
"What time is it?" Alec asked.
"Midnight, roughly. I came to get you because the phone was ringing again. You weren't in the library so I answered. There was no-one on the other end but they hung up. Thought you should know. Also, why are you sleeping in here?"
"Max had a nightmare and wanted me to help him sleep by reading him a story. Guess you're not the only one that finds my voice soothing." Alec joked, earning a half-hearted slap to his shoulder.
"Bastard." Jace breathed. Alec glared at him before the pair left Max's room. Alec was about to say something when a loud, familiar ringing echoed throughout the Institute. Alec saw red. He stormed to the library, seized the phone and forced it against his ear, all while Jace was watching relatively fearfully.
"WHAT!" Alec screamed before getting hit in the back by Jace followed by a loud hush.
"Today." was all the person on the other side spoke before the phone was hung up. Alec slammed the phone down and was about to scream but Jace covered Alec's mouth with two hands.
"Shut up!" he hissed. Alec was breathing heavily through his nose. "Izzy, Max and Clary are sleeping! Calm down! It's someone playing a prank!" Jace paused while Alec attempted to calm himself down. It wasn't working. Nothing was working. Alec was too frustrated. Jace knew this and sighed. One hand left Alec's mouth to fumble around in his pocket for his stele. Alec felt the familiar burn on the back of his shoulder as Jace drew a rune. Feeling the pattern being drawn, he recognised it as being the calm anger rune. Once completed, Alec felt a rush of calm that made his knees weaken slightly and his entire body relax.
"Better?" Jace asked. Alec nodded. Jace's arm released Alec properly. "If you had calmed down the first time, I wouldn't have had to."
"I tried, Jace. Those phone calls made me so angry. I don't know why." Alec admitted.
"Irritating, is all? Telling you your time is now or whatever. That's enough to get even the calmest people on edge." Jace suggested.
"Yeah. Maybe. Or maybe, I just need sleep. I've had a long week." Alec yawned.
"Sleep in tomorrow morning. I can take over until you wake up."
Alec gave a nod before trudging off to his bedroom to sleep.

When Alec woke, it was mid-morning. He stretched, got dressed and made his way to the training room where, expectantly, he saw Jace and Clary training together. "Thought I heard you." Jace called out as he entered the room without even looking over at him. Clary's head darted toward him in shock.
"How did you..." she trailed off, shaking her head. "Why do I bother. You always know when someone enters the room and always assumes it's Alec."
"I never said it was Alec. I leave them to assume that I knew themselves." Jace shrugged, finally turning to give his Parabatai a smirk. Alec rolled his eyes.
