Woahhhh

My goal was 7 votes and 5 comments for the last chapter and ye people absolutely smashed it with 13 votes and 11 comments.

Also important question:

Should I write in Alex's POV and Tobin's POV. (comment here)

I just thought that almost all stories are told in Tobin's POV, and so I wanted to change that up a bit.

Alex's POV

Waking up to the unfamiliar sound of Tobin's Alarm, I realised that I had stayed over at Tobin's last night after she went on her date. Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I struggled to find the alarm as Tobin's nightstand was so messy covered with change, tickets, receipts etc. Finding it squished under Tobin's bed, I finally got it to shut up.

(I do this in real life.. Putting my alarm in difficult places so that I'll have to get out of bed to throw it across the room and go back to sleep)

Quickly running through her drawers to find something that would fit me, I found one of my old sweatpants and an old tournament t-shirt that we went to together. Just as I was about to exit Tobin's bedroom I heard footsteps coming from the direction of the kitchen. Opening the door a little bit further, I was drawn into the smell of pancakes.

I'm a pancake person.

Waves of realisation hit me. If I walked out of Tobin's bedroom and saw Tobin's parents, how am I going to explain? Hi Mrs.Heath, I was just hanging out in your daughter's bedroom without her. After a long session of debating in my head that lasted about thirty seconds, because my brain couldn't make any clear decisions this early in the morning. I tried to tip-toe my way out and hopefully escape without the person in the kitchen catching me.

I prepared myself for every type of situation I could think of and thought of a way that I could deal the least damage. However, I wasn't prepared, to have a topless Tobin waltzing around the kitchen in her sports bra making pancakes.

Her hair casually swayed as she moved her body to the bat of a tune she was humming. Her back muscles were very prominent as she moved about the kitchen. Yet as soon as I glanced in front of her, my mind completely forgot about Tobin and was filled with yearnings of...

pancakes.

Frozen on my spot, I shook my head to erase my thoughts and sprinted towards the delicate smell of food.

Nearing Tobin, my heart started rapidly beating as I could smell Tobin's tropical scent of mango and oranges. Calming myself, I tapped on Tobin's shoulder, "Hey."

Tobin jumped when she heard my voice and turned around properly to greet me. "Sup Lex. Guess you found that old shirt huh?"

My mind completely didn't render anything Tobin said because it was currently riding a roller coaster. I hadn't just realised we were this close to each other.

"Pancakes?"

Her angelic voice woke me up from my thoughts as she goofily smiled at me. Definitely noticing how I was suddenly rendered speechless.

"Um...um.. Ya....Sure." I managed to choke out.

While we ate our pancakes, our conversation never stopped. We talked about school, our friends, soccer teams.. We were in a middle of a debate on who will win Ligue 1, PSG or Olympique Lyon, that her alarm went off again.

"Oooh, we're going to be late if we don't leave now Lex. I'll put the dishes in the sink, and meet you outside." She rushed out. Five seconds later, I could hear her in the living room shouting, "I still think PSG's going to win!"

Walking outside, I realised after that conversation, that Tobin is really my best friend. I've known her forever, and was I really willing to put that on the line?

I was broken out of my thoughts for the millionth time this morning as the door slams open with Tobin still tugging on her shoe and putting on her sweater on at the same time. Her outfit was just seemingly missing something. I mean, she still looked perfect as usual, wearing black tight sweats and a simple gray tee. Smiling, I went into my backpack and dug out an old black snapback. Tossing it to her, she looked up and gave me a half confused half smile look.

I shrugged, "Just thought you were missing it."

Her face stretched out into a smile as we left for school arguing on which team's better, PSG or Lyon.

After reaching school, we both took off into different classes knowing that we are definitely going to be late.

I rushed into the classroom and breathed a sigh of relief. I was late, but apparently earlier than the teacher. Rushing my way to the back of the class, I took out the class materials and started to spin my pen on my fingers.

Tobin taught me how to do that

Tobin taught me how to do that.

Ugh, I seriously can't even survive a class without thinking about her.

"CLASS! Everyone listen up! Today is simple! All y'all got to do is pick a partner or work alone, research on a topic that was listed in your homework assignment, design a poster, then turn it in at the end of class. You can do it anyway you want to, with anyone you want to. Now for the people that didn't complete their homework, I want y'all come up here and get a detention slip because you had an entire week to finish it. Now everyone get moving!"

Glancing up, I took a look around the room and saw a pair of eyes trained on me. Nuuuuu. My head groaned as I pretended to busy myself with taking out my homework and everything. A few seconds later, I felt another person's presence next to me. Putting on a fake smile, I looked up to greet Servando.

"Hi.." I politely greeted, then looked down hoping he'll get the hint that I had no interest at all to work with him.

"Hey princess." He however, isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

"Yes?" I put some sass into my voice, trying to hint that I really don't want him here.

"I'll be your partner princess, no need to be grumpy." He winked at me.

More like, he blinked at me.

"Sure." I tuned him out the rest of the class as I tried to finish the poster.

-----

After a few more long torturous hours with Servando, we were finally dismissed. I gathered all my materials and quickly walked out, wanting to leave that classroom as soon as possible. Glancing back, I noticed that Servando was catching up to me, which made me let out a breath of annoyance. Swiftly shuffling through the crowd, I tried to find someone that can help me get rid of Servando.

Tobin.

Knowing that it was lunch time and Tobin's probably at her locker, I quickly walked towards our locker area hoping that she would be there. Right as I turned the corner, I spotted my old black snapback floating through the crowds on top of a mop of brown hair. Tobin. A smile etched onto my face as I struggled through the crowd to get to her.

Right as I was about to tap her on the shoulder, she shifter her weight to lean on the lockers, which gave me a view on who she was talking to.

Are you freaking kidding me?

Christen Press was standing very close to her as Tobin laughed at whatever Christen just said.

"Hey Alex, what's up. Seems to me like you were trying to run away fro me, haha." Servando annoyingly popped up next to me.

Because I was. "Oh no! Haha, just trying to get to my locker." I throw him a quick smile before redirecting my attention to my best friend.

Hearing my arrival, Tobin turned her head just in time to see that conversation. As we made eye-contact, my breath got stuck in my throat. A wave of sadness washed over me as I noticed that her eyes turned a lighter shade of brown, showing that she was very happy. Because she was talking to Christen. Chances of our relationship seem to dim even more.

"Heyyy Lex! How'd your class went?" Tobin greeted me with a hug.

I nervously hug her back as I tried to not stare into Christen's prying eyes. "It was fine."

"Fine? You had all your classes with me, Alex. I'm sure they were more than fine. But I mean if you want, I can make them... a little more exciting.." Servando's voice popped up from next to me as he edged a little closer. He kept shuffling in while looking at me until his body was merely inches from mine.

Feeling a hand slip into mine and pull me back, I looked at Tobin just in time to see her divide herself between us, "Woah, Servando. I'd like it if you didn't pop Alex's personal bubble and kindly return to your assigned seat. Which is across the hallway if you need reminding." She pointed across the hallway to his locker area.

"Babe, chill. Let the man do his thing." A soft voice whispered into Tobin's ear, but wasn't soft enough because I heard it. I whipped my head to Christen and saw that she had rested her chin on Tobin's shoulder and wrapped her arms around her waist from her position behind Tobin.

Woah mate woah.

Tobin was never really a PDA person, and I knew that she would've discreetly untangle herself from Christen's tentacles.

She should've.

But instead, she moved Christen beside her and kissed her on the cheek. "I know Lex, and I know that Servando is making her uncomfortable." She whispered back.

This quick interaction between them absolutely crushed me.

Seems like you don't really know Tobin anymore do you? Best friends huh?

"Lex, you ok? You look ill. Do you need anything? Oh my god, did my pancakes give you food poisoning? Do you want me to go get you something?" Tobin's face suddenly popped in front of me as her hands held my face. Her hands sent electricity into my broken heart.

Removing her hands, I put on a smile, "Nah Toby. I'm good. Just worried about something, it's all good. Go hang out with your girlfriend, I'll hang with Servando."

I want you to tell me you like me too.

"It's ok Lex. Christen wouldn't mind. Are you sure you're ok?" Her concerned face melted down all resolve I have. I felt like I was going to break down into tears right then.

"No really, I'm fine. You do you, and I'll go do me." I quickly walked out of that area, dragging Servando along with me.

"Well, I'll meet you in the cafeteria in a sec!" Tobin's voice shouted after me.

I responded by throwing a peace sign with my back turned to her.

Even though I know #Preath is real, I still prefer #talex.

Now though, I'm starting to shift to #preath. They're just so cute together, and... just so cute.
