Christian Storm POV

I leaned back against my chair while watching Jasmine talk with some of the police officers in the room. Ever since she first came into the building she had been a big hit. I half expected everyone to be cold and distant with her, but they surprised me and were accepting and friendly. I think that it is her; she just has this aura about her, she just seems like the sweetest person you will ever meet, not to mention she is a very attractive person. She walked over to me with a smile on her face, "Hey Christian."

I smiled back at her, "Hey, so has your second day on the job been?"

She shrugged, "It's been pretty good, but why wasn't Dante Finn here yesterday or today?'

I knew exactly why he wasn't but I couldn't tell her, "He's just been a little under the weather." I couldn't exactly tell her, ya he hasn't been here because he's scared shirtless about having to tell you that you are his mate, and he's not sure if he really can because it goes against who he is as a wolf.

"Ohh, well do you think he is trying to keep away from me?"

Yes, "No." I got up from my chair and put my arm around her shoulders and hugged her to my side, "He's just not feeling well, he will show up." And as if just on cue in walks Dante with a scowl on his face, he must know that Jasmine is here. Well I'm sure he smelled her before he even walked into the building. Damn I know he really doesn't want to talk to her about being his mate but he needs to give her a chance to surprise him because even though I've only spent little time with her I know that she would be good for him. I walked with her up to Dante and smiled at him giving him a what the hell look while smiling, "Hey D, long time no see."

He patted me on the shoulder, "Hey man, sorry I wasn't here yesterday, I had pack business."

"Pack business?" Jasmine asked, "You are in a pack?"

He looked over at Jasmine and his posture changed, his chest puffed up and he quietly growled and I remembered my arm was around her shoulder, so I quickly removed it so I didn't have to get into a fight with him. "Jasmine, how are you?"

She began to blush, "I'm good how are you?

He smirked, "Better know that I'm here,"

With that being said I felt like I really needed to leave, "Well if you'll excuse me I have got somewhere to be."

Dante pulled my arm and forced me to halt, "Don't leave me alone with her, please."

I put my hand on his arm and looked into his eyes, "Dante, you will be fine, do you understand," he nodded, "Ok, so go and spend some time with your mate. I promise you, you will be just fine, besides it's not like you are alone. "

He looked around then back at me, "Ya, I guess that's true. Where are you going anyway?"

"To go and talk with Ryker, he wanted to have a chat, I guess it's important especially since he wanted to talk in person."

He nodded and looked back at, "Ok, well look just be open-minded when you talk with Ryker."

I raised my eyebrow, "You know what he wants to talk about?"

He nodded, "I'm not going to tell you because it's between the two of you, so you better get going don't want to be late while going to see him."

"You will be ok for the rest of the night?"
