Mark's POV

I was greeted by a slobbery wet tongue and golden fur tickling my face along with the California sunshine breaking through my window. "Alright Chica, alright", I croaked calmly in my morning voice. I sat up and gestured for Chica to jump down. She hopped off and patiently sat beside my bed. Swinging my legs over the bed, I extended my feet so they slid straight into my slippers. I stood up; stretching as I did so then grabbed my dressing gown before heading for the door. Chica bounced with excitement down the hallway. It makes me smile seeing her so happy, she makes mornings a whole lot better. As I ambled down the hallway I listened for any movement from the other three men but it was silent, they must still all be asleep. I went downstairs and reached the patio door. I opened it so Chica could go outside and walked tiredly into the kitchen to make her some breakfast.

It was so quiet this morning, so peaceful. I'm not a huge music fan but it was nice to listen to every now and again. I switched on the radio in the kitchen but made sure the volume was not too loud as to wake Ryan, Matt or Jack. A familiar tune came on as I steadily poured dog food into Chica's bowl and I began to sway my hips. The song got to the chorus as I finished preparing the Retriever's breakfast. I picked up the bowl; spun around and placed it gently on the floor, almost ballerina style. The tune played on and became more upbeat, so I carried on dancing and started mouthing the words. I briskly snatched a rolling pin from the counter and continued to mouth the words, using it as a microphone. I spun around, my black and pink dressing gown sweeping around like a dress. I stood still now as I saw a pair of ocean blue eyes and a tuft of green hair looking around the door frame. Jack stepped forward, his face grinning from ear to ear. I averted my eyes, embarrassed, realizing he must have seen me prancing around the kitchen like a fool. But my eyes shot up to meet his when he began giggling; it was in the sweetest way.

"G'morning, nice moves Markimoo", he said with a wink.

"Good morning and t-thanks", I stammered, rubbing the back of my neck and looking at the floor. "I didn't wake you did I?",I asked nervously.

"Nah, a pretty bitch with blonde hair did", he giggled.

I titled my head in confusion at first, but then realized he meant the four pawed kind and laughed.

Suddenly, those same four paws bounded into the kitchen nearly sweeping Jack off his feet. They slid on the laminate flooring and halted in front of the food bowl I put down. "Chica...", I groaned. The Irishman gave me a reassuring smile. He loved Chica, even with her bouncy nature. Honestly, Chica reminds me a lot of him. They are both bundles of energy and this is why I wanted to include her in what we were doing today. I planned to go on a hike around Griffith Park and have a picnic there. I have taken Chica there before and it's beautiful. I asked Jack what he would like for breakfast. "Just some toast would be fine", he replied. I raised my eyebrows to check if he was sure. He picked up on my hint and assured me that he was happy with that. So I made us both some toast and as we sat down at the table I heard movements from upstairs. 'That will be Ryan, the smell of food always wakes him', I thought. Soon enough footsteps enacted from the hallway and Ryan appeared. He told us that Matt was awake and proceeded to make some toast for the both of them.

Ryan and Matt were going to stay at home, so I asked them if they would kindly set up two computers for me and Jack to record some videos later. I had pre-recorded videos for the few days that Jack is here and it's been nice to have a short break. That said, I was really looking forward to recording with Jack. We always have such a good time. I took the now empty plates to the counter as Jack hurried upstairs to get ready. "Put on comfortable footwear", I shouted up to him. While he was using the bathroom I made myself some tea and sat on one of the deck chairs outside with Chica for a while. The morning breeze was dancing with the steam rising from my mug. Chica nuzzled my free arm that was hung lazily over the chair. I smiled at her and began to stroke the top of her head gently. "You're such a cute pupper-snup aren't 'cha?", I whispered. She sat down and nuzzled into my hand, her tail swishing rapidly behind her.

At that moment, Jack appeared in the doorway of the patio. I turned around in my seat to face him, he was wearing a blue hoodie and some faded jeans. He leaned against the door frame, "So what do you have planned for today Marky Mark?", he asked in an excited tone.I leapt up from the chair and casually walked up to him."You'll see", I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. Then I continued inside the house to get myself ready.
