"So, why does Prince Charming sing of a Ruby Tuesday?" Brian asked with a smile adorning his face.

"Heard that, huh?" I asked back, my face heating up.

He nodded, "what happened?"

"Well," I looked at the table, "Mick blew me off for Marianne last night, I don't know, he said I wasn't pretty enough for him or something like that" I shrugged, but my heart panted painfully at the memory of last night's fiasco.

There was silence for a moment, and then Brian took hold of my hand and squeezed it. I looked at him shyly, he smiled back and his face tinged with pink. "You're awful handsome when you're blushing" I whispered as my smile grew. He shrugged, still smiling, still holding my hand, "so do you, miss Ruby"

At that, I'm sure my face turned redder. Then we were looking at each other and his face was coming closer and I think he's going to kiss me and-

And there was a knock at the door.

He squeezed my hand once more before standing up to go answer the door. I followed behind and sat on the couch, eaves dropping.

I heard the door open.

"Hi, uhm, what's up?" Brian said by way of greeting. I smiled to myself, he could be so outgoing one moment and then so shy the next.

Then the other voice spoke.

"Brian, do you know where Ruby is?! I've got to tell her that I still love her please Brian-"

"Woah, Mick, calm down, what happened?"

I chuckled in my head at that, I'd like to hear Mick's side of the story, what he remembers.

"Well," he started, "well, I took her for a drink and Marianne, her cousin, came along and me and Marianne got real drunk and then I think I said some things to her about her being very beautiful and then I don't even think I could remember Ruby's name and then I know I said some bad things to her-"

"Like how she wasn't pretty, and how she wasn't worth your time." I interrupted, walking around the corner with my arms crossed. Brian looked back at me, I looked at him for a second before my eyes returned to Mick. He was momentarily shocked, and had his mouth open.

"I d-didn't say t-that did I?" he started stuttering, alot. "I-I'm so sorry Ruby I'm sorry"

My arms stayed crossed and a hard expression adorned my face.

"Mick. Do you mean that?" I asked softly, "because if you like Marianne more, than be with her, if she's your love, then that's it" I said sturdily, "besides I-" I stopped mid-sentence because a girl arrived at the doorstep, a blond girl who was very pretty. Mick looked at her for a second before his eyes returned to me. I could hear Brian inhale sharply behind me and him mutter "shit."

I turn around, but his eyes are glued to the door, to the girl.

"Are you guys busy? Because I can just come back heehee, hello Mick Jagger" the girl said in a really high pitched voice, "hello Brian Jones" she said as she stepped confidently into the room and locked lips with Brian.

They were kissing.

I looked from him and the girl to Mick and back again.

Then I rushed into Mick's arms

He stumbled out the doorway and I thought I saw the door being kicked shut by the woman's stiletto heel. He put his arms around me and before I knew it I was crying.

A few tears went down my cheek and I pressed myself closer to Mick.

"Oh Mick," I mumbled towards him, he rubbed my back slowly and we started walking away from Brian's flat.

"Does this mean that I have you back?" Mick asked softly as we walked down the road. "I don't know," I answered truthfully, "all I know is that I need you now"

There was a moment of silence and then, "I can be there, as long as I can get a shot to win you back again, Ruby"

I nodded and he squeezed my shoulder lightly, "how about we start proper then? Ruby, I would like to take you on a date"

I nodded again, with my head on his shoulder and his arm around me. This could be a new start, a proper start, but for some reason as we walked forward, all I saw were Brian's eyes, looking at me so passionately, were his eyes surprised when that woman threw herself at him?

Or were they pleased?

I turned my head and looked up at Mick, "hey Mick," I said slowly, he turned his head toward me,

"Yes, Ruby?"

"You've got lovely eyes"
