Chapter 6~ A Mother's Hate

Chapter 6

"Well, may I have the pleasure of knowing your name." he said with a curious gaze. Which countered my obvious disorientation.

"You can call me Anni " I said as regaining my posture and acting as if nothing was wrong when clearly something was.

As I looked around I noticed my brother dancing with a clearly disinterested girl and I just have to wonder why stoop to so low of a level, he could anyone he wants yet he chose her.

He always did like a challenge.

Soon the song ended and I found myself walking up the stairs and onto one of the many balcony's facing the front drive way in the house, where guests were still arriving, with a glass a white wine in my hand. I knew he would follow, he was always a follower before he became a leader.

My theory was proved right as I felt his presence enter the balcony. I have now idea, of why I lured him onto this balcony. I guess it's true, family is the tie that is forever bound.

"Hello, Elijah, brother"  I said with a smirk while taking off my mask

"Annisa" he said seeming not surprised at all he soon continued saying " I knew you'd come back eventually, but why now, why come back when you could have been long gone?"

"We are family and while we may be broken, the ties that bind us to each other are still there, through blood and through the bond that we share."

"I have come back to protect our family from our mother, while she may say that she came back in order for us to be a family I think she is here to bring us down. In order to protect our family I must go she won't expect me to come back." I said with worry in my voice for a family that I cared for and one that was on the brink of extinction.

"Why not stay? To help and prove what you think is right to protect our family? Do you not remember the promise we made to each other, Always and Forever?" He began with a hint of anger in his voice.

"Yes I do remember the promise that we made but don't you see this is to protect our family." I began with determination in my voice.

"One day soon I will come out of the shadows in order to protect you, my family but that day has not come and so I must retreat into the shadow and along with me must every trace of my existence go because I am your oldest sister and I must protect you and the rest of our family even if that means keeping them in a box."I said with venom in my voice.

As he looked at me with pleading eyes he said " Please just come, home, for the sake of our family."

"You have to understand Elijah, that this family is all that we have, and while I wish for us to become whole, I still believe that our mother did not come back from the dead with the correct intentions."

As I walked to the other side of the balcony I took a drink of my wine " While I still hold a grudge on all of you I have one clear goal and that is to make our family whole, but I must know that we are safe that she is not here to bring evil to us."

Suddenly Elijah looked down towards the driveway seeing more guests arriving .

Just as this happened I sped away because the shadows is where I must stay for now, in order to protect my family once and for all. From the very force that created us, our mother.

"Non est qui videat me. Omnes invisibiles, quia ego sum et a me" I chanted in the corridor and then looked in the mirror to across from me to see nothing there.

I smiled, it worked, I had just done a spell to make myself invisible you see, I just had to know what my mother was planning and what I'd be up against when it eventually came time to stop her. Soon after my spell was completed my mother  enter the room with Fin, her watch dog in tow. 

For a while, Fin entertains himself with sharpening a knife while my mother looks through her grimores as if she is preparing something. While she is doing this Elena comes in the room.

My mother begins talking while looking through her grimores and says "I understand Rebekah shared the story of my family. How I upset the balance of nature by turning my children into vampires." adn then swiftly turn around.

Elena hesitantly reply's by saying" She said you did it to protect them from the werewolves."

My mother, although it does not seem fit to call her that, then says "It's true. But in no time at all, they began to feed on human blood. They ravaged the town with no remorse. Eventually, Niklaus turned against me." 

She looks at her with gret destress and say"How are you gonna kill him? He's immortal."

She, my mother that is looks up and directly into elena, the medlers eyes adn say with confidence" It will take time, magic, and your assistance."

Elena looks at her with worry, which I am guessing is for her own life and says" It will take time, magic, and your assistance."

My mother " looks grabs a knife while she is turned away from Elena and says with utter disgust" My children believe I'm holding this ball to celebrate our reunion. But in truth I've gathered them together to perform a ritual. The first step requires blood from the doppelgänger. Only a drop. Its essence will be in the champagne toast later on this evening. Will you do it or shall I?"

Ester then turns to Elena which gives her a glimpse of a taken aback look before Elena takes off her glove which allows my mother to prick her finger and put her blood into a glass cup.  

My blood boils at this, she will kill our entire family and she would kill me to if she new were I was. I know what I have to do know, I have to put an end to her hate for us by putting an end to her.
