VII. Somebody's home

Jacki's POV

As I left the penthouse and went straight home. I received a text from Emma.

"This Cal here is really hot. But I found him checking on you. So, I'm ass off."

I laugh as I drive myself home. As I park my Audi TT in the yard. I heard some noise inside the house. I hurried to check what's happening in there. As I enter, there's nothing... still the same. The cream color of the walls with some carved woods on it, the chandelier, well still shining and glowing. The lights are on. The head of the moose and the bear are still on the wall. Nothing's changed but what's that noise?

My heart is beating fast and hell! It is the only thing that I can hear clearly. My head is still a bomb that is about to explode. "Katerina?" I called. But it seems that only a cricket could respond to me. The silence in the house is very suspicious. I walked upstairs to my room as I touch the marble handrail. I heard some footsteps behind me. My soul froze for a second and I was too scared to look so what I did I ran fast upstairs and I skipped a step and nearly fell and screamed. But I felt a warm hands catched me as I look at his face, it was... Taro!

Cal's POV

As Dave, Emma and Craig started cleaning up. I drive home first, not because I don't want to clean but I know that Maggie's waiting for me and she might be worried that I didn't come home last night. I parked my car in the yard and went straight to kitchen to see Maggie. I texted Dave.

Without any expectations, somebody grabbed my neck. Of course, it would be impossible if it is Maggie. But this one is very strong, as I hold on these hands on my neck. I ran backwards to wall as it hits her. Then I heard her voice, "What the hell Cal?" Oh shit. I just smashed Amy on the wall. I put her down and looked at her. She's wearing her yellow mustard shirt that has a print 19forgotten.  "Is that how you say hi to your lil sis?" She whined as I smile and kissed her forehead.

"Hey! I'm sorry for that." I smirked as she tries to rub her back. She scrunch her nose and so I laugh. I reached for her arm to pull her in a hug.

"Who's with you here?" And then I heard somebody running in my direction and jumped over me.

+

"You'll be in big surprise if it is Dad." He teased. "Saaaam!!!" I cried pushing him slowly from my back. I rubbed his head. "How are you man?"

"Cooler than ever." He smirked. He's in his plain white shirt and kaki pants. Man, I miss this smartass. "Cooler for never." Amy retorted.

"So, why are you guys here?" I asked. "Just because we're Californians and you're now a New Yorker that doesn't mean that we don't miss our brother who used to take us out for milkshakes." She rolled her eyes as I hugged her tight. "Oh my god! I need air." She yelled. I laugh, "so I'll consider that one that you miss me that bad." They both smiled. Maggie called us to eat the lasagna that she has prepared... "Well, Maggie's food are still the best! Can we take her back in California with us?" Sam asked, I shook my head and we all laughed. "That is so unfair." he commented as we all head to the kitchen.

Jacki's POV:

"Taroo!" His eyes are bright. "I missed you so much!" I added squeezing his head with my arms as I pulled him for a tight hug. "You missed me and now you're trying to kill me with this hug, boney." He whispered. He pulled me away and laugh at my wet face. "Aww, you do miss me much eh?" He teased and kissed my forehead and hugged me again. "You smell fucking bad. Where have you gone drinking Jack?" I do really miss this smartass brother of mine. He came from Paris. He's taking his last year in Medicine in Paris. He visits us here in New York like twice in a year. "I crashed the night in our hangout place. I guess I had a lot last night and I didn't have clothes in there." I pointed as I try to assess myself again. I looked at him again. "Why didn't you told me that you're coming home, you ass."

"I wanted to surprise you, Princess. So surprise!" He answered me jokingly. Aww, I miss him. I just scrunched my nose and laughed.

"By the way, I have your favorites here. And some fashion thingy that I bought you from Paris. And oh, Granny sent you something in here. Come on." He added. I jumped on his back and he was carrying me as we ran downstairs to the family room.
