I Won't Give Up
Im Na Yeon (Nayeon) woke up in her apartment to the smell of a strong-flavored fragrance. She got up, got dressed and walked into the kitchen with a smile and no doubt as to who produced the noticeable smell. She noticed a slim, blonde haired man there, putting the finishing touches on what looked like pancakes.
"Rapmon, good morning," she said, feeling a faint flush sliding across her cheeks. What are you here doing?
"I thought it was obvious that I was making pancakes!" he laughed, holding out the plate with a grateful smile, which she accepted. She watched as Rapmon strummed his guitar as they sat down to eat, composing a new tune. For over a month now, he had been visiting her and making her, after she woke up in the hospital with no recollection of the last five years of her life. She steadily recovered memories of her past over time, little by little, but she never seemed to see, let alone recall, the two boys who had never left her side. A few days ago, when a memory of them kissing four years ago came into her mind, she recalled Taehyung. She was hoping the other boy wouldn't be far behind. And she sighed. Rapmon wasn't going to joke, right?
"I remember something else," she told him, laughing as he put his guitar down and put it in his case. He was one of the first people she knew she could trust, and he told him about every new memory she had just learned. I was weeping in a tent because Taehyung left, and the boy came up to me, switched the speakers up, and supported me with his arms. I took it, and before the song finished, we were dancing and smiling. Then he let me go, trailed by her, lost again in the past. I think the kid might have been in love with me, so why didn't he say anything about it? I say, a few months back, we got together with Taehyung. If he had just said he liked me, the whole thing might have been avoided.
"Maybe because he saw you happier than himself with Taehyung. He was trying to prove to himself that he was strong enough to let go and be content, even though you were not him," Rapmon said softly. Nayeon stared confusedly at Rapmon.
But Taehyung had an argument between him and me. We have broken it. Clearly, at that moment, I wasn't pleased with him. I 'm sure he must have seen it. I mean, when Taehyung asked me to choose between them, I made the right choice for the other man. Was that supposed to mean something right?
And maybe by taking the girl he's had a crush on since he met you, he didn't want to betray Taehyungs rust, "he answered nonchalantly." Maybe he didn't want to betray Taehyungs rust. Her puzzled expression turned to frustration.
She scoffed, "Why are you protecting him?" "What would you know about this triangle about love going on because we met well?"
"I know more than you think I do, since."
"Well then tell me! Tell me what you know, Mr. Secretive Kim Nam Joon (RapMon)? You're not going to tell me about your break with Ji Woo even though I have yet to see that pop up in my memories. Honestly, you didn't appear at all in any of my memories. So go ahead, enlighten me." The look ahead his face made her realize she 'd gone too far.
But he said coldly before she could apologize, "I can't come to work today with you. I need to be at home, finishing an album." He crossed the room in two steps and with one brief look back at her, she was still sitting in the same spot, he murmured, "Enjoy your breakfast." He was gone.
Nayeon worked like an autopilot throughout the first half of the day. Which no one asked, because her colleagues knew her situation. By the time Nayeon had made it to her lunch break, she had so desperately missed Rapmon that she had picked up the phone several times to call him, but at the last minute, she had always chickened out.
She sat down at the table she typically had with Rapmon, alone, when she entered the lunch room.
"Hey Nayeon!" someone called, and she saw Taehyung, Jungkook, and Sana, his girlfriend coming over and sitting at her table.
"Hey Taehyung, Lou, Kells." She said evenly, wishing Rapmon had come in with her today, picking at her food.
She saw the three look at each other from the corner of her eyes before Sana asked. "Are you fighting with Rapmon?"
She dropped her sandwich back on her plate, shocked by the bluntness of the question. "Can you tell? "
"Nayeon, I've known you for years," she said, " We can tell. She said, grinning.
"Plus, no matter what he has to do, Rapmon usually comes in with you," Lou added.
"What is happening, then?" Taehyung urged. Sana nodded, prompting her to proceed. Nayeon sighed and recounted the morning debate very easily. Lou and Taehyung were looking at her with a sad face when she finished.
What? she asked confuse. You don't have to tell me that I went too far because I figured that out.
Figure what out? Ji Woo, Taehyungs sister arrived, sitting beside her Nayeon.
The three except Nayeon recounted everything that Nayeon told them earlier. When they were done. Ji Woo looked at Nayeon and told her. Nayeon, Rapmon and I broke up because I knew that he would never love me the way that he loves someone else. Plus, before the band he wasn't like this. Rapmon well he was cheated, betrayed. So the moment something comes up privately he shut himself out what he believes that the more you love, the more you care the more you have to lose.
A memory was running through Nayeons head. They boy was sitting by himself, guitar in hand, staring out the window while playing his guitar. They boy looked lonely.
Nayeon stood up, I have to go and apologize! she exclaimed before Jungkook pulled her back down.
Slow down Nayeon. Give Rapmon some time to himself. m sure he has been with you constantly these past few weeks. Nayeon nodded, guilt rising up. Give him a chance to pull himself together and for you to work out what exactly you need to say to him. Knowing that Taehyung was right, Nayeon sat back down and finished her lunch occasionally joining in Taehyung, Jungkook, Sana and Ji Woos conversation.
Another memory was running through her head. She was in a wedding dress giggling with Ji Woo and Sana in some shop in downtown London. She looked at her left hand to see an elegant ring; diamond encrusted with emerald gem surrounding it.
Oh Nayeon, she heard someone whispered before she snapped back to reality glancing at the ring less finger.
I'm engaged, she whispered to the four, her eyes wide. But to whom and where's the ring? disappointment flooded through her. Bye-bye feelings for Rapmon, hello feelings for no face fiancé. She saw the four glances at each other in the eye before excusing themselves, claiming they had work to do leaving behind dumfounded Nayeon.
The moment she got out of her work. Nayeon rushed top her car.
How she managed to make it through the rest of her day, would always remain a mystery to her. She did actually try to find who she was engaged to through her works data base her name came up empty. Frustrated, she decided to ask Rapmon when she apologized to him.
Before she knew it, it was four o'clock, and she is now on her way to Rapmons house. Moments from knocking at his door; the door was opened by a younger version of Rapmon with a darker shade of hair color than his, dragging a younger version of him in tow. They stared each other for a little bit, before Rapmon voice called out.
"Sung Min I thought I told you close the door behind you. Rapmon voice echoed from somewhere in the house.
Umm Rapmon! Sung Min said.
