"What is it that requires me to be wearing a blind fold?" I ask nervously while Lesley ties some fabric over my eyes."I'm not going to answer what you ask if your not going to do what I ask!" Lesley answers grumpily.
"Just because I didn't have any thing to eat last night doesn't mean you have to act like a stuck up doggy who didn't get his dinner on a silver plate."
"Just because you didn't eat any dinner!" She scoffs." Let me remind you that you did more then that! You wouldn't have a bath or shower, wouldn't have breakfast this morning, wouldn't put on some better clothes and you wouldn't even let me brush your hair!" My ears ring from her loud complaint.
She's right though. I didn't do any of those things. Who knows? Maybe the food was poisoned or the dress she tried to get me into would squeeze my body till there's no breath left in me like a snake would if it thought I'de make a tasty treat.I did however drink some water last night. It didn't taste poisoned and if it was then I can do is hope it's better up there then it is down here.
On a positive side, because of Lesley trying to get me into a dress, she learnt how to kiss the floor. She asked if I new some fighting skills and I said no. We had a big argument about that. In the end we agreed that I was stronger then I looked.
" I'll hold your shoulders and guide you to the elevator, then we'll leave the hospital and I will take you,....er...somewhere." Some fluffy material covers my eyes, making me sneeze.
"Where?"I ask curiously at the same time as the door to C7 behind us closes. While Lesley gently leads me forwards I try not to trip over my own feet. This feels weird not being able to see.
"I'm not suposed to say." Is that another set of feet I can hear?
Who ever is walking next to me stops when Lesley announces that we're at the elevator. I hear the doors squeak close and then the blind fold is taken off my head. I blink a few times, adjusting my eyes to the light.
"Who was walking with us?"
"That was another guy the Alpha has signed up as a prisoner guard." Lesley crosses her arms.
"Your a great person and all Buttercup, but you're still a prisoner."
Perfect, not.I had been hoping that when I got out of this elevator, even though Lesley's a kind person, that I could fight my way past her, into the woods and make a plan to get back Russell. I'm not to fussed about Celia, she can do what she likes. We never really got along anyway so I'm sure she won't miss me.
I feel the elevator begin to move. The whole little room shakes a bit before falling down, making me feel like I'm falling out of the sky in a box.
"Ahhhhh!" I start screaming and panicking. "Lesley! We're going to crash! We're going to DIE!" I scramble to get to the doors and try to open them. My breath is coming out in loud pants. Lesley gives me a strange look.
"What are you on about Buttercup? We're not going to crash! Remember, you've been on one before, with Brad."
"Yeah but I didn't realise the elevator was moving when I was with him!"
"It's fine, just calm down, elevators are perfectly safe!" She tries to pat my back hoping for a chance to calm me. I keep screaming and asking her to stop the elevator. My body presses into the corner of the room and my knuckles turn white from holding onto the bar for dear life. I try to wipe my brow, but end up hitting my self in the head with my coated arm.
I start to run to the buttons to push everything I can but the elevator suddenly slows when I'm half way to them, standing in the middle of the room. My knees buckle and I fall to the ground with my hands protecting my face. We stop moving completely soon after.
Kneeling down next to me, Lesley puts the blind fold back on, pats my head and helps me up when I've caught my breath. With two silent prison guards this time, we walk along some gravel and into what I think is a house judging by the soft carpet tickling my feet.
"This way. He's been waiting for you." Says a feminine voice I've never heard before.
When I'm guided up some stairs. I try not to take to small of a step and fall over. I don't want to be here. I want to go home, with Russell to her dream place. I want to be left alone. But most of all, I want a happily ever after to protect me from the memories of the past.
I try to turn around and push past Lesley but two strong arms from either side of me tie around mine and force me forward for until we come I a stop.
"Okay Buttercup," I here a short guy snort next to me at the announcement of my supposed name."I'm going to take off the blind fold, and then you and me will walk into the room okay? No fuss. Got it?" I nod my head.
The blind fold comes off and the first thing I see after Lesley's face is a big wooden door. I'm standing in a big fancy hall way with photos of very regal people hanging on the walls. The two guards let me go and wait next to the door as Lesley pulls it open. One of them gives me a 'don't try anything funny, cause I'm right here' look.
When Lesley and I step through the door, it closes behind us, and the strong smell of ginger smothers my senses. I cough as my eyes water.
The room I'm in is fairly large. Filled with shelves of books, a large desk and a huge globe in the corner. Behind the desk full of papers is a chair facing the wall of windows, it's back to us.
"What was the hold up Lesley? I requested you be here nearly an hour ago." A male, stern but freakily calm voice carries out through the room. The sound comes from the chair, to tall for me to see the head of the person, only their strong hairy arms on the arm rest.
" I....um..well....." Lesley stammers looking extremely nervous and scared." Buttercup....you see she wouldn't....."
"You mean, patient 589553. The prisoner."
"Yes, she wouldn't..."
"She's no longer a patient Lesley, she'll just be known as a prisoner now." Lesley gave a frustrated sigh. I would to if I were in her position. Couldn't the guy just let her get it out and over with? Who is this man any way?
"Right sir, the prisoner. She refused to get dressed and hasn't eaten anything since she got here. Which has been nearly four days." Yikes, has it really been that long? I'm surprised I'm not flat out on the floor, a sign above my body alerting the heavens to take my soul away from this world.
"Thankyou Lesley, you can go." Lesley gives me glare, accusing me of being responsible of the guys annoying behaviour. ' sorry ' I mouth before she walks away down the hall. I'm hoping she'll forgive me.
