** included the pic of Phichit bc I think this is how nervous he is in this chapter :)**
Over the course of several weeks, Yuri and Viktor became inseparable. Yuri helped Viktor with his studies, being the more focused of the two. When they weren't practicing their routines on the rink, they were eating katsudon from a tiny Japanese shop downtown.
One Friday after practice, Phichit rushed through the brisk air to meet to two at the rink.
"Hey!" He shouted, "can you two do me a favor?" He asked.
"Um, what do you need?" Yuri said. He had become pretty close with his roommate as well.
"I need you guys to come to a party with me, a girl from my sculpture class is gonna be there, pleeease?"
Yuri wasn't so sure about this. He didn't do well in social situations and was always awkward when he talked to people.
"Of course we will!" Viktor squealed, taking Yuri by surprise. Of course he would want to go, he was so dramatic and a social butterfly. He seemed to make friends wherever he went.
Phichit was ecstatic to have a couple wingmen. This girl was all he could talk about all week.
Viktor made Yuri change into something "fashionable" for a party and not his workout clothes. The three walked a couple blocks to an apartment complex.
He could already hear the music pounding in his ears from outside. His pulse sped up, how was he going to do this? He thought about turning around until someone grasped his hand,
"Are you okay?," Viktor whispered so no one else could hear.
"I-I'm just nervous, I hate parties," he stammered. Viktor squeezed his hand and gave him a reassuring smile as they walked in.
Viktor holding his hand made him feel better, but it also made him anxious about something else. What if someone saw them holding hands and got the wrong idea? What if people said something rude?
Phichit started waving wildly as a girl came up to greet them. She looked like your typical American art student, dyed hair, cool clothes, and a nose ring.
"sà wàt dii, I mean hi, Jessie," he said, obviously flustered. Yuri smiled, Phichit always messed up on his English when talking to cute girls.
He was surprised, no one really seemed to pay attention to the fact that him and Viktor were holding hands still.
Phichit and the girl left to get drinks, so Yuri and Viktor were left alone at the party.
"I'm sorry I agreed for us to come, I didn't know you didn't like parties," Viktor said.
"It's fine, I just get anxious around large crowds," Yuri replied.
Viktor looked lost in thought for a moment, then looked at Yuri with concern in his eyes. They heard Phichit laughing by the drinks with his arm around the girl.
"I think Phichit doesn't need is as his wingmen anymore," Viktor said with a grin. "Let's get out of here,"
Yuri felt a weight lifted off his chest as they left the stuffy apartment and felt the cool air hit his face. He was ready to go back to his dorm and curl up in bed after tonight.
Viktor insisted that the night wasn't over, so he dragged Yuri to his dorm to watch TV. Viktor chose to watch Pokemon, as he had recently discovered it while in the U.S. He had even taken up Pokemon Go, hiking with Yuri all over campus to find Pokemon.
Yuri could hardly keep his eyes open as he stared at the bright across while the two slouched on Viktor's bed. He started to lean on Viktor, and soon his head was in his lap. As he drifted of to sleep, he felt Viktor playing with his hair, not minding their current position at all.
** Hi!! I hoped you liked this new chapter. I wanted Yuri to have social anxiety in my fic because it is something I deal with everyday. Also in the anime he shows characteristics that look like anxiety.
I want to include Yurio in this story but I'm not sure how. Does anyone have any ideas? Should I make him college age?
I love hearing from readers so leave a comment and vote for the story if you liked it!**
