Chapter 210

The couple had a lovely lunch together in the cosy little tavern, the magical, mysterious atmosphere actually making it quite romantic and after Tre’s lovely little talk about his grandparents and how lucky he felt to have Cheryl in his life; she just couldn’t take her eyes off him, feeling so settled and happy. Every time he’d look up from eating or chatting, he’d catch her gazing at him which would then make them both smile or giggle, just enjoying being out together with no hassle or drama surrounding them. Tre had kept laughing at how many times he had to wipe the corner of Cheryl’s mouth as she tucked into her sticky ribs which had been marinated in a delicious barbecue sauce that was ending up more all over her face than in her mouth, but she’d simply pout her lips together jokingly every time he did it and told him she was simply saving it for later.

“Ready to go bambs?” he smiled as their plates were finally taken away and they paid their bill to the cheerful old man who had become quite fond of the couple while they’d been there, finding them both rather charming.

“Mmmm...Yeah but I don’t think I can move fast!...haha...you were right about those chips, they were amazing!” she groaned before smiling brightly, sitting back in her seat.

“Haha...pretty dope hey?!...haha...we can have a nice wander around the shops for the afternoon yeah, just chilled...and then do you fancy going to see if there are any good movies on? I haven’t been to the cinema since I went with you, Tyrell and Gary that time, and that was months ago!” he asked, trying to get a plan together for the rest of the day, laughing at her patting her stomach. “Haha...stop pretending you’ve got fat, you’ve got the most perfect, little, flat stomach there is!...haha” he chuckled as she just pouted her lips at him, feeling completely stuffed.

“Well it feels like there’s a herd of elephants in there at the moment, I literally can’t move...you’re gonna have to carry me!” she joked as he began sniggering, shaking his head.

“Haha...we’ll just take it one step at a time babe...that was so yummy though, we’ll come back here, it’s wicked!” Tre grinned as he stretched his arms in the air before grabbing his snapback to put back on his head.

“Gary will love this place, I’ll have to tell him about it!...urghhh...right howay then, let me just quickly go to the ladies before we go” she replied before breathing out as she stood up, grabbing her bag from the floor.

“Ok babe, I’m just gonna wait outside and get some air, I’ll literally be just outside the door” Tre smiled as he stood up with her and affectionately rubbed her arm.

“Ok but don’t go wandering off cos I really will end up getting lost, I’ve got no sense of direction around here” she warned him as he jokingly gave her an evil laugh until she playfully slapped his chest for being mean.

“Haha...as if I’d leave you by yourself you numpty...haha...go on then, promise I’ll be just outside the door” he chuckled before sweetly giving her a kiss on the cheek as she wandered away.

Tre kindly grabbed Cheryl’s glass and his beer tankard and strolled over to the bar where the sweet old man was polishing some glasses that had just been washed. “Thank you sir, we had a great time, your food here is amazing!” Tre smiled cheerfully as he put their empty glasses on the bar so that he wouldn’t have to go and collect them, grabbing the bartender’s attention.

“Oh well thank you son...haha...and did your lovely girlfriend enjoy it too even though I wouldn’t give her a coke?” he replied, making Tre chuckle.

“Haha...yeah she loved it and you’re a braver man than me for not giving her what she wanted!...haha” Tre joked back which made the old man start laughing sweetly.
