drabble #2

(I wrote this just after the episode where Peridot called yellow diamond so forgive me)
I looked around in a panic, my (h/l) (Y/h/c) swishing around on my head flowing as if it really was hair, and to be truthful, it most likely wasn't. I had crashed trying to escape homeworld and now was looking for shelter after the violent crash and running from a trio of rogue gems after me, I was the result of a mostly failed experiment to create artificial Diamonds to be commanders of The armies, and I, the only surviving one, rebelled, they hadn't exactly expected me to be completely sentient as I didn't seem to respond at first to anything... but they don't know that I was waiting for them to leave, and after that destroyed anything related to me and escaped. Though the rouges don't know any of that.

They think i'm here to cause harm, i'm not very old, but to them anything coming from home world is danger. I heard them say it. I run and run, somehow along the way I lose them, and hide inside a dark cove like area on a sandy place by water. I sit down and sigh only to freeze at the sound of something unfamiliar. 'U-uh...' I turned around and yelped when I saw a big pink Thing looking me in the eye. A young boy seemingly my age and human comes in to get it when he sees me. "Hey, who are you?" Suddenly takes a step back and readys a fighting stance once he sees the gem I have . "Wait.... are you from home world!?" I flinch and pull back a bit my hair covering my eyes. "Y-yes, B-b-but hear me out! Please!" The young boy lowers his guard and nears my small frightened form seeming confused and worried. "Hey.... I will, but can you tell me who you are and what happened?" I sniff and nod, then tell him.
*a few hours later....*
By the end of my story we had introduced each other and I now had the young boy, who I learned was named Steven Universe,close to tears and hugging me to comfort me, but I think it was more for himself. I look at him, smiling a bit. What I did't expect next though, is for him to pull away quickly and ask me to stay put for a little bit. I sit there blinking and feel a little hurt that he left so quickly, though I don't know why..... I don't really have... much experience in emotion... I ponder this as I wait by petting the lion, that was until I hear a loud thump and I see him on the ground with some sort of device in his hands and he sits up rubbing the back of his head a little embarrassed. "Heh.... sorry, I didn't mean for that.... but hey! I wanted to show you something! Do you know what a song is?" I tilt my head and go to ask what that was, only for a Pearl and an Amethyst to come in running behind him asking him why he was in such a hurry and a strange gem i've never seen, a lot taller then me lock her shades to my area. "Guys, the homeworld gem is here...." she makes a set of gauntlets appear and I yelp hitting the wall as I don't have anywhere to go anymore and don't have a weapon that I can use, tears in my eyes. "P-ple-please! Don't hurt me!" I shield myself as the pearl and amethyst launch at me, waiting for the blow that would cause my fragile form to shatter and be sent back into my gem stone. But it never comes, instead, I hear a sharp sound. I look up to the young boy who with a stern face stands in front of me shielding me with a big rose colored bubble, my eyes widen. "Y-you didn't h-have to you know..." Steven smiles a kind smile at me then turns to the others who look shocked. "Stop! She isn't here to hurt anyone! She came to escape homeworld!" The pearl frowns and says almost frantically. "Steven please, let us take care of this, what if she's just telling a lie!? She came from homeworld after all, and you know about what happened after Peridot's call!? She could have been the gem sent in her stead!" The amethyst piped up, "Steven! She's the enemy! What are you doing protecting her?!" Steven held his ground. "I'm protecting her because she told me her story! No one can make up a story such as the one she's gone through and be so scared at the same time! Didn't you guys even take a chance to look at her? She's hurt, really badly." He gently pulls me up releasing the bubble as he did so and showed them my cracked gem. They were silent until the larger gem I didn't recognize spoke up. "I think we should trust Steven." The pearl looked reluctant. "But Garnet...." the 'garnet' then placed a finger over her lips. "Trust him pearl. Now come on. Let's get her to the house, see what we can learn." She turns with a smile and leaves the pearl sighing and following while the small amethyst give me a weird sign that took her fingers and went from hers eyes to mine. "I'm watching you ..."
I sigh letting out the breath I hadn't known I was holding. Steven does the same letting go of my shoulders that he was holding onto in the process and does the nervous chuckle and rubbing the back of his neck like he had earlier. "I'm really sorry about that.... they, we, just have had some problems lately...." I nod and shyly says. "I-its fine s-ste-ven ... don't apologize. It's understandable... " I shyly look down but have to look up when he grabs my hand and start out, with the fluffy animal steven explained was called Lion, following us. I was surprised but smiled anyway, I felt at home here, more than I did in home world. I was already being treated with more kindness then my creators showed. This is truly where I feel I should be.
