James takes a step in front of me. "You've got to be joking if you think I'm letting that happen."
"Yeah?" Lucy clicked her fingers and two men stepped beside her. "Take Jewels away."
The men looked at James, but did not make an attempt to move, which made Lucy angry. "I said take her aw—you know what? Fine, I'll do it myself."
"Over my dead body," James spat, as Lucy walked towards him. She stood before James and smirked. "You're forgetting, Lucy, I'm in charge when Jeremy is away. Regardless if I'm injured, he would never allow you to be in charge."
In a split second Lucy placed her hands on James's chest and pushed him roughly into a wall, he winced and released a groan, making no attempt to push her away. That was when I noticed her hand was over the place she had shot him.
"What's wrong, big boy? Can't handle a little pain?" She smirked and put pressure on his wound.
"Get off me, Lucy," James warned. "I mean it." He groaned when she released her hand only to punch him on his injury.
"Or what—"
By this time I could see the blood leaking through James's shirt, I could not take it. "Or I will kill you." My veins were already glowing with the surfacing energy.
Everyone's head snapped in my direction, Lucy's eyes widened in shock when I leaped at her. My hands connected with her body, forcing her off James, who had to hold onto the wall for support.
"Revenge shall be mine," I spoke so that only she could hear. I watched as she gasped when her back collided with the opposite wall. "You will pay for your lies." My hands wrapped around her throat, lifting her off the ground. "You are right, Lucy."
She looked at me, eyes still wide. "About what?" she asked, her voice coming out hoarse.
"I am a monster." It was my time to smirk. "A monster like me should be caged because you never know when I might snap." I could feel the power surging through my body, waiting to be released. "And another thing, do not threaten me again."
"Jewels, calm down," James spoke behind me, but I ignored him.
"Perhaps it is not the ROGS you should be worried about, nor the Borums, or even the Zutorian's." My hands tightened around her neck, I began to channel my power from my hands and into Lucy's flesh causing her veins to glow. "Perhaps it is me, I am your greatest enemy, but now that I think of it—"
I could hear James walking up behind me but the words I said next causes him to stop.
"I would rather die than join you."
Lucy started whimpering, the effects of my energy destroying her from the inside out. "L-let me g-g-o."
I released my hands from her neck and she dropped to the ground. I turned around, every vein in my body was glowing brightly, and it scared the people in the room. They took a step back as I take a step forwards.
Two marked arms wrapped around my waist forcing me against his chest. "Release me!"
"No, you're coming with me," James spoke into my ear and then faced the guards. "Take Lucy to the holding rooms, don't let her out until Jeremy is back. You got that?"
The two men who were supposed to take me nodded and turned to Lucy, taking her arms and pulling her away. "I can't believe you're letting an enemy inside our walls!" she yelled.
"I am not the enemy here, you are," I spat, feeling the energy pulsing through my veins, but James stands in front of me.
"Jewels, you have to stop," James said, placing both of his hands on my face and tilts it upwards so I am looking into his eyes.
My breath gets caught in my throat because I am a danger. "I cannot stay here," I told him the truth. "You should not have made me return. I am a monster, James, I can kill you easily."
"But you won't." His thumb brushed over my jaw. "You wouldn't kill me, Jewels, I know you can't do it."
"You do not know anything! I can—"
I was cut off and my thoughts faded away when James crashed his lips upon mine. He brings one hand to the back of my neck and the other falls on my hips, pulling me closer to him. I closed my eyes, that weird feeling returning in the pit of my stomach like something was moving in it. My lips tingling from the movement of his lips as we moved in sync.
I bring my hands to his chest, gliding them along it before I wrapped them around his neck.
But all too soon James pulled away, disconnecting where we were just touching. "You have no idea the things you're doing to me, Jewels," he spoke then kisses me, much harder than before.
I could feel the energy which once surfaced subside. My veins no longer glowed and the anger I felt had disappeared.
James once again pulled away with a smile on his lips. "That's my girl," he said, tucking a strand of hair behind my right ear. "Told you, you can't hurt me."
"Your girl?" I frowned then raised my brows at him, his girl?
"Jewels," his hands fall to my waist as he held me close to his body. "I-I-ugh, I'm not usually the one to have a proper relationship—but—crap, I don't know how to ask this."
"How to ask what? You are confusing me, James." I did not know why, but a chuckle escaped my mouth.
This time he frowned. "It's not funny, I've just never really—"
"Just ask me."
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
His, what?
"Pardon?" I looked up at him and for a moment I was lost in a sea of hazel mixed with orange and a hint of black. "What does this girlfriend mean? I am sorry James, I do not understand, this is all new to me."
"Like, um, dating?" He released his grip with one hand and rubbed the back of his neck. I noticed his cheeks were changing to a red colour. "Will you be my girl?"
"I-I—" I did not know what to say, mostly because I did not understand. "Will we eat lips more?"
"You mean kiss," he laughed, returning his free hand to my waist. I nodded, which resulted with him smiling. "Yes, I mean if you don't like kissing then that's—"
This time it was me who cut him off, I leaned in and pressed my lips to his. James responded instantly and kissed me back, but when my mouth slightly parts he slides his tongue into my mouth causing me to pull away.
"I am sorry." I could feel heat rushing to my cheeks. "I just do not feel comfortable with that, it feels like you are trying to lick me from the inside."
"Don't apologise," James chuckled and then smiled, leaning his forehead against mine. "But I'd like an answer from you."
"Yes," I told him, his eyes widened as does his smile. "Yes, James, I will be ... your girl fired."
"Girlfriend," he corrected me with a laugh. "Sweet! I mean, that's fantastic."
I laughed. "You will have to teach me what I need to do as your girlfriend because I do not really understand. Will I be like your slave?"
"No, no, of course not." James's hand left my waist only to wrap around my own hand, I looked down to see him intertwining our fingers. "We can start off slow, I don't want you doing anything you don't feel comfortable with," he said and presses a kiss to the corner of my mouth but when he pulled away the smile that was once on his face was replaced with a frown.
My gaze followed his. I noticed Jeremy standing at the door to my room, hurt flashes through his eyes. "Sorry for disturbing, I heard what Lucy attempted to do," his voice was like venom. "You two can get back to making-out. Oh, and James."
"Yeah, bro?"
"If you hurt her again, I swear, I will kill you."
