Kirti was early in the station today. She knew what she was getting into when she accepted the promotion as an ACP. More cases meant more work hours and less time for family. But she also knew her husband would understand as he was a CA himself; Always indulged in late-night schedules involving high-profile business accounts.
"Busy today?" Mr Walje said
"No, sir. Actually, I've finished with Jalsa case. Got the neighbour's confession. Not much of a mystery as I was hoping."
"Good. Meet me in the office in half an hour. I have just the case for you" He said with a smile.

(After a while...)
"May I come in, sir?"
"Oh, yes Kirti, come on in, have a seat."
"Thank you, sir."
"This case I was telling you about, it's a 'High Priority' case. And I have specifically appointed you for it. I need results & I need them ASAP. I want you study it & tell me your opinions."
"Yes, sir. And I think I know few things about this case."
"And how's that?"
"Well, to be honest, this case has been a gossip around the station for the past three days now. And I was hoping to talk about it to you."
"So, is it safe to assume you know the primary details of it?"
"Yes, sir. Two guys; One died in suicide & the other goes missing within two weeks... This smells fishy."
"It does indeed. And that's why we have a deadline this time. The last time I had a 'high priority' case under me was three years ago; It took two months to solve it. You think you can break that?"
"Most definitely sir. I'll get to it right away."
