Stolen Heart

Sea stop

  Moana POV:

   Growl.
"Ughhhh." Moana groaned.
    "Mauiiii."
"I'm hungryyyyy." She whined
         He just rolled his eyes at her.
"Come on princess." Maui said steering the canoe to the left.
     "You were all eager to get on Tāwhiri's trail earlier?" He said to her.
"Yeah." She responded.
    "And you know I'll be more alert and ready, after I've had some food." She said.
     "Yeah yeah, we're stopping in like 3 hours for the night."
    "Sure you can't wait?" He asked her looking over at her to see her slowly and dramatically falling down.
"Oh no, Gravity is increasing on me, air thinning." She started to gasp dramatically and fall on the ground with her limbs flailed out.
    Maui just rolled his eyes at her and smiled.
He sighed.
       "Fine, theres an island up ahead we can stop and look for food at." He said
"Really?!" She opened her eyes and got up excitedly.
She coughed and looked down.
      "I mean yeah sure if you really want to." She shrugged.
Maui just shook his head and smiled at her.
    "Your welcome." He smirked at her causing her to blush.
About 10 minutes later and they were on the shore of the island they spotted in the distance.
    "Alright." Maui said.
"Let's get looking."
   "Should we split up and search?" She asked him.
"Yeah I don't think so princess." He laughed.
    "Last time we did that someone had a bad run in with a coconut tree so.." she punched his arm.
"Maui!" She yelled at him with a smile.
      "Quit it!" She said.
"Alright, alright fine." He replied.
They continued to walk on through the eerily quiet forest in search of something to eat.
       This place is giving me the creeps. She thought to herself.
I wonder if Maui is getting some weird vibes from this forest too..
Suddenly she heard a rustling in the bushes next to her causing her to yelp.
    "Maui!" She called for him up ahead.
"There's something in the bushes!" She said with a terrified look on her face.
       "What if it's dangerous!"
     The rustling got louder until finally something began to come out.
Oh boy this is it we're dead meat now crap..
    She thought closing her eyes.
Suddenly she heard Maui erupt into a fit of giggles beside her .  
         "Oh yeah that's realllll dangerous princess." Maui said in between giggles.
She opened her eyes slowly and looked down to see a cute curious bunny staring back up at her.
"Oh." She sheepishly smiled.
"Your so cute!" She said and tried to grab the bunny.
The bunny just looked terrified and decided to run away from her.
Maui just laughed at her.
"Looks like he didn't think you were too cute huh?" He said laughing.
Moana just stared at Maui and pouted with her hands on her hips.
"What?" He looked at her still laughing.
"Oh, don't worry princess your the definition of cute." He said smiling at her.
O my god.... did he just call me cute?!
He totally did!! OMG!
Moana just stared at him smirking.
Suddenly Maui snapped out of it and an oh shit what have I done look adorned his face.
He simply turned around and started speed walking causing Moana to have to jog to catch up to him.
"So." She spoke out loud trying to break the silence.
"You think I'm cute?" She smiled and wiggled her eyebrows at a frowning Maui.
"Princess." He warned
"Drop it." He looked at her with a stern look.
Ok nope that look could kill a man, stepping out. She thought as she slowly backed away with her hands up.
Trying to once again break the silence she decided to ask him about Tāwhiri the god who stole the heart.
"Sooo.. why do you think Tāwhiri stole the heart?" She asked him.
"I don't know." He responded with.
"But what I do know is we better get it back before he uses it." He shortly replied.
"So this guy Tāwhiri."
"You said he was in love with Kapa'a right?" She asked him.
"Correct." he replied climbing a tree and throwing some coconuts down for her to catch.
"And Kapa'a was a mortal, a human right?"
"Yeah she was." He said.
"You said you didn't approve of them.. how come?" She asked him.
Maui sighed from up the tree.
"Look." He said jumping down in front of Moana.
"A god and a mortal just can't be together it never works out.. As you can see from the position Tāwhiri is currently in." He said turning around.
"But why?" Moana asked.
"If they both really loved each other than why couldn't they be together?" She asked.
"What's so wrong about that?" She asked him.
He groaned and started to crack open the coconut.
"Because princess your life, a mortals life is shorter than a gods and eventually you will grow old and die and me being a god will stay young and youthful forever." He said
"But if a god and human really loved each other than why wouldn't they want to be together even if it was for a short time because the human would eventually die?" She asked him.
Maui started to raise his voice and become frustrated while still hacking away at the coconut.
"Because it just wouldn't work out Moana ok?!" He yelled at her.
"Why?!" She yelled back becoming angry.
"Your just making up stupid excuses Maui!" She yelled back face red from anger.
"I'm making up excuses?!" He yelled back still cutting open the coconut but with more excessive force.
"Maui!" She yelled at him seeing him destroying the coconut in his anger.
"MAUI!" She yelled louder.
"Stop! Your destroying the coconut!" She screamed.
Suddenly he stopped and looked down to see a mangled and destroyed coconut in his hands.
He lightly let it fall out of his hand in front of her face with a pissed off look on his face.
He then proceeded to shift into a giant hawk with his hook and start to fly away.
"Maui!" She yelled after him.
"Where are you going!" She yelled.
"To find more coconuts." He sharply replied.
"Fine! Leave!" She called after him.
"I am!" He yelled back.
"Well good!" She screamed.
Watching him fly out of eyesight.
She plopped down on a rock and stuffed her face in the basket of coconuts and silently screamed in anger.
It was just a question! What did he get so worked up for! Jeez!
She picked up her things and began to walk away deeper into the forest.
Stupid Maui! Getting mad over nothing.
Whats so wrong about a human and a god being together anyways?! She thought while walking.
Suddenly she heard an eerily familiar voice answer her thoughts.
"My thoughts exactly." The voice deviously whispered.

Sorry this took a while to update I've been super busy with some stuff. It's supposed to snow where I live tonight into tomorrow so if we have a snow day Monday I promise I'll update 2 extra long chapters for you! Sound good? Anyways hope you guys enjoy!
