How Blessed we are
If we could just see the goodness
That exists in everything
Instead of the bad and the darkness
And what all that might bring
we could just see how blessed we really are
And we really might feel the good in life
that lives in each persons heart
For if we are always seeing
What ‘s wrong with all that’s here
We are just feeding that hungry Beast
That lives on anger and fear
if we could just admit
how good our life is here
we could allow a little light in
to chase away the darkness that appears
For in this life we are always given
New chances every day
To share a little kindness
and help others on their way
But if we think it helps
To complain and see what is wrong with everything
We just add more misery to this world
And follow the path of negativity
It may take a little effort
to choose the best thing to do
but if we can see how blessed we are
We could change this life and all those around you
Instead of tearing down the world
We can build it up the good and what is right
And stop feeding the monster of hatred
So we can give Love a better try
If we could see how blessed we are
We would be oh so grateful for our life
And if we share a little kindness
We can step out of Darkness and walk into the light.
