Chapter Six

Percy watched them carefully through the binoculars. He watched as Annabeth picked up a body and prepare to throw it overboard. She looked disgusted.

The body she was holding was obviously a female. Black hair, fair skin. If Percy could guess, it would obviously be Skyler.

Except, Percy thought, how did Skyler die? And why was Annabeth getting rid of the body so early in the morning? How did his poor sister die?

Percy kept his curiosity at bay and watched as Annabeth pushed the body overboard. Once it hit the ocean, the corpse sank slowly. Where the body was, there was only a small patch of blood left. Percy smirked. The blood and ocean water mixed was oddly satisfying to him.

He knew that if everything went accordingly that day, then there would be a lot more blood mixing with the ocean waters that day.

After Annabeth had cleaned up all the blood and showered, Annabeth walked into the dining room and looked around for something to eat.

Unfortunately for her, Jay was in the room also eating an early breakfast. He paid her no attention. He acted as if she didn't even exist.

Annabeth didn't care. She walked over to the cabinet and looked through it. She grabbed a banana and frowned. Now that she thought about it, how did Leo plan to keep the fruits and meats in the cabinets and ice storages fresh? Annabeth didn't work on this part of the ship with Leo. Leo worked on it with Hazel... Maybe Hazel used some of her 'magic'?

And what would they do when they ran out of food?

"I once overheard you say that Percy could still use his 'son of the Sea God' powers even after he was disowned..."

Annabeth jumped a bit then turned to face Jay. She frowned. He didn't even look at her. He just stared at the table.

She sighed. "He did. Why the sudden interest in Perseus?" She asked coldly.

Jay turned in his chair and looked up at her. He frowned then looked down again. He raised his hand a bit and stared at it.

Annabeth gasped when he saw him. After two days, she finally had gotten an actual glimpse of him. His eyes were so dull... His cheeks sunken... Deep bags under his eyes... He looked sick... Everything in the few days had taken a toll on the poor kid. In just two days, he looked as if he had been through two wars- No!
Annabeth snapped out of her thoughts of sympathy.

This was the son of Perseus Jackson. This was the son of the guy who ruined the world.

She shouldn't pity him.

"I can feel it..." He muttered.

Annabeth rolled her eyes.

"Ever since I've gotten off that island, I've been feeling the power of the ocean... The water in the air.. The liquid in my veins... I can feel it all... Was Percy ever like that?" Jay inquired.

Annabeth froze. Percy wasn't even that powerful...

"No... He wasn't..." Annabeth mumbled then stared at him.

Suddenly, a smile had found it's way on her face.

Maybe they could use Jay to their advantage...

"I'll be right back..." She mumbled then ran off to tell the others of her plan.

-

"How in the name of Hades is that ever going to work?" Leo demanded.

Annabeth grinned maniacally. "If we can get this down perfectly, then it might just work."
