The Breakdown

"Jahlil so you not gone say nothing?"  I said breaking the silence.

My name is Taylor and my boyfriend's name is Jahlil Ross. Better known as Young JB or BIG B. and he just got off of his tour.

The first thing I told him once he came to see me wasn't I love you. It was 'While you was away I cheated on you. I'm sorry.'

"Jahlil  so you not gone say nothing."

"Ain't even none to say, man. Can't say I'm suprised at all." He responded.

"What's that suppose to mean?"  I asked, knowing very well what he meant.

"It mean I don't know why I thought you was different. I mean , I go on the road for less than a year and you cheated. Tss..."

I ain't gone front. I was stuck right there. Hearing those words "You cheated" hit me like a wrecking ball.

"Now you silent. Man . You know what I did on the road? I wrote a whole song about you. About us. And you knew that .He shouted.

The first instinct was to roll my eyes. Iwas trying to do anything to defelect the attention off of me.  "How many females you say that to JB ? How many girls on tour you told that to, matter fact?"  

I regretted asking him those questions immediately after. I was just trying to say anything to get the pressure off of me.

Jahlil shook his head.

"Don't try to put this all on me when you was the one out here doing dirt. For you, Lil mama I wasn't on nothing with none of them females. For you. And it's temptation everyday. But I'm booling for you. And not just on the road. It's females down the street I coulda talked to. But for you , Lil mama, I didn't.  If I did mess with any of em, you know I'm a keep it 💯 and let you know it happened. And you know this personally" Jahlil clapped back.

"....When you told me you was going on tour I took that as whatever we got is over. You was in a different city every night. Barely responded to my texts. FT me at 4:00am every other week.  Ain't no way we could've really made that long distance work, even though I wanted it."  I tried to explain to him.

"Distance don't mean nothing . It's all about
loyalty.  ,Taylor. I don't think you know what you want. If you did , we wouldn't even be having this conversation man. "

He shouted, not looking me in the eyes.

I felt like Jahlil wasn't trying to hear nothing that I was saying. Everything was going in one ear and out the other.

"We having this conversation cause I decided to tell you the truth. Where is my appreciation for that? Ain't nobody have to tell you nothing ."

Jahlil chuckled.

"You want a congratulations for that ? Man. Look Taylor you real pretty. Very beautiful girl. But you gotta be slow. Dumb asl if you looking from a thanks from me. You suppose to keep it 100 At all times. Matter fact, yo thanks is that I'm letting you talk. Cause I promise you any other female would been dismissed at 'I cheated'. "

There it was again. Those words "I cheated". I couldn't put on a tough face any longer. I swear I don't know how boys cheat on they girlfriends time and time again because this hurt I was feeling was painful. I really felt bad for Herb. I know all that he's been through and I was legit the only person besides his mother  that he felt he could rely on. I really let him down. All those times I been hurt by people and I go and hurt somebody else. That's  really messed up. I see why people have trust issues now. I can't really blame him if he end this. I really just don't wanna lose my friend man.

"I'm sorry Jahlil . I know I was wrong. I know in your head I'm probably just like every other female you came across. I don't know I guess I just figured what we had going on was gone end anyway because you're you. And I'm me. And I don't know. I didn't understand whatever we was. I mean I guess I would break up with me too. And you entitled to hate me.i never meant to hurt you."

He grabbed my face and I jumped. I thought he was finna punch me. I know I would've. But he just grabbed my face and spoke softly to me.

"Ay man stop all that crying. Ion hate you man this life too short for all that. But that don't mean I'm a love you either. Gone take me some time to get over it. But look. I meant what I said when I told you ain't no getting away from me Lil mama. You got mybfeelings in this...deep!  feelings involved now. We in this lil mama. Can't get away from me that easy. I won't let you.

I broke away from him.

"Nah. I don't deserve you. You can find someone better Jahlil. For real.  Somebody that's not gone hurt you. For real. Everything. I'm just-"

He  grabs my hands and looks straight into my eyes.

"Look. Listen. You ain't going no where. I ain't going no where. I don't want nobody better. Cause it ain't nobody better for me. Look, I ain't been going hoarse cause I don't wanna be with you. If that was the case I would say less. Smoke a blunt and forget about you.All that. But man. You hold a special place in heart. Real special. Made a nigga realize he had a heart. That this love thing might exist. Even for a nigga like me. For real Lil mama.I mean that."

I looked deep into his eyes. I could tell that he was being really genuine and sincere with his words. The most sincere I ever saw him. It's why i couldn't believe that it was him saying these things to me. No one would ever imagine 'BIG B ' pouring his heart out to nobody. Herbert was showing me a side of him I always knew was there and always wanted to see. Now I felt worse than I did when I first told him I cheated.

Waterfall of tears ran down my face. I started to tell Herb something , but then I got the sudden urge to vomit.

" Ay, JB it's something I gotta- Excuse me. I gotta go to the bathroom."

I ran towards the bathroom, covering my mouth with my hand.

JAHLIL POV

As I sat there, booling waiting for her return, her phone buzzed. Though I ain't ask , I most definitely wanted to know who ever the nigga was she was cheating on me with. I ain't know she would be dumb enough to have the nigga still blowing up her phone. While I'm here. Some told me to check to see who it was. Figured it be a lame or some. Had to be.  But to my surprise a familiar name appeared on the screen.

TAYLOR POV

I realized I didn't bring my phone with me to the bathroom. I quickly washed my hands and went back to the living room. The look I saw on Herbert's face was a mixture of scary, disappointment, and insanity.

He threw my phone at me. "Read the last couple text messages." He said keeping the anger in his voice low. I grabbed my phone from him and my heart dropped when I seen what was on my screen
