As I boarded the metro, I noticed some other people staring at me like 'Uh, just look at that guy'.

I guess they must also been going for the auditions, because they were holding Rubik's cubes in their hands, but then I realized those Rubik's cubes they were holding were like the ones I saw myself holding in the dreams.

I don't know if that was a bad thing or what, but I just decided to ignore them.

When I reached the stadium, I went into the entry line. It wasn't a long line. In fact, it only took about five minutes until it was my turn to register myself.

It was finally my turn to audition, I took my Rubik's cube and said, "Please, don't fail me."

I stepped into the stage. There were three judges. Camera men were recording the auditions.

I took a deep breath, then the judge spoke, "Hello, may I know how long it takes for you to solve the ...3 by 3 Rubik's cube?"

"1 minute 25 seconds, ma'am."

"Good, now if you'll just do it again so we can have some proof, then we'll select you, okay."

I let the judges shuffle it. Then they gave it back to me.

"3...2...1... BEGIN!"

I quickly started making the white cross. I had to make sure it was all aligned after I finished that.

I then checked the time, 12 seconds were already over, and I had to do the white corners quickly.

Once I was done with the 1st layer 34 seconds were gone.

I had to speed up. I quickly went on to doing the second layer, then the yellow cross, then the yellow corners, then the final layer.

I FINISHED!

. . .

Silence, I thought they were shocked that I finished so early.

Then I looked at the time taken.

1:26 seconds

I couldn't believe it. Missed by 1 second. For a second I thought today was another nightmare.

I then pinched myself to make sure I wasn't  dreaming .But I never realized how hard I pinch.

"I'm sorry but you are not good enough to qualify."
