Elron was woken from the sound of the metal door opening. It grated against the ground, causing a high pitched sound. Elron groaned and covered his head with his wings.
"Wakey wakey!" said the person that opened the door, "Time for your inspection."
Elron opened his wings and looked towards the human that had opened the cage. It was a soldier, a female. She looked at him then walked up to him.
"Come on," she said, "Get up."
Elron rolled over, away from the human.
"Don't make me press this button," said the woman.
Elron immediatly shot out of his nest. He hated it when the humans pressed that button. It caused the devise in his head to go harwire, making a very narsty headache.
"Good dragon," she said, "Now follow me."
Elron obediantly followed after her. She stopped along three other dragon stables on the way, bringing out a fire dragon, an earth dragon, and an electricity dragon. They followed the woman into the lift. It started to rise. Elron struggled not to let out his previous meal.
The lift eventually stopped, on what seemed to be the third floor. Elron had never been to this floor before, he had never had an inspection before. They happened just after a dragon had turned ten years, then again at twenty, and so forth.
Elron followed the lady through a bunch of corridors, and into a wide open hanger. He saw large machines scattered throughout the hanger. He looked up, this place was gigantic.
"Okay," said the woman, "Line up here. The manager should be here shortly."
With that she walked away, leaving the dragons trying to figure out where they were exposed to line up. Eventually they found themselves in a straight line, all facing forward. Elron found himself at the end, he looked sideways to the other dragons.
By the looks of it, the fire one was a female. Her scales were shined to perfection and she didn't seem to have a scratch on her. Her wings were neatly folded to her sides and her tail was curled in a strange fasion.
The next dragon was the earth. Elron didn't see much of those. This one was a male. It was extremely muscular, and had curved horns, like a ram. It's tail ended in a giant mace like tip. His green scales weren't shined, but they seemed to be very clean in any case. The dragon also had green eyes, which Elron found very strange.
The next dragon was the electric one. It was also a female, her scales were clean and they were also gleaming. It seemed every dragon who was in this inspection had been cleaned to perfection. The electric dragon had straight horns and a few scars around her body. Elron noticed a hole right under her wing, probably a bullet hole that hadn't quite healed up yet.
Elron looked straight forward. He suddenly seemed very aware of himself. He checked his wongs again to make sure no rust had formed over night, and made sure his shell and armour were propaly cleaned, but everything was in order, if anything, he was the most daziling dragon there.
The dragons waited a few more minutes, figiting around, trying to get rid of any nerves in there body. Eventually the door on the other side of the hanger opened, and a squadron of soldiers walked through. They marched towards the dragons.
A man was walking by himself, in between the soldiers, who were spread out around him. He was walking in a very 'important' like way. He held himself high and his clothes were different from the other soldiers. Instead of the army greens her wore a blue uniform, that looked very uncomfortable.
'That must be the inspector,' thought Elron.
The soldiers lined up in two seperate lines, on either side of the dragons, creating what looked like a square, wihout one of the edges. The inspector stood in the middle, the women standing next to him at attention.
