"Hi." I said.
She raised her eyes from the book and regarded me with the most confused look in existence, "hey, we have English together, right?"
Oh my god she recognizes me.
"Yeah, english" I replied, "what're you reading?"
Her face went blank and she hurried to look at the cover, "Just some french literature, Zola." Her cheeks filled with red and she tucked a long strand of hair behind her ear, "I can't believe I forgot what I was reading." She exclaimed with a cute exhale.
French literature. God help me.
"Oh so you speak french?"
She giggled and curled her upper lip, "yeah, I did two years abroad some time ago, hard language to learn but completely worth it." That small smile played on her lips, strings tugging at the corner of her eyes, her lips.
"That's amazing, I mean, I've been learning Spanish for four years and can barely introduce myself."
Yeah sure Ben, why don't you make yourself look as stupid as possible?
She raised her eyebrows, and lifted the left side of her mouth, as if she was amused by my response, "Aha it's okay, some people just have a knack for languages, you know, I bet you're amazing at art or music or something like that." She touched my knee and I died.
"I guess you're right." I couldn't stop looking at her.
She pursed her lips and tried to hide a smile, "I'm Allegra by the way."
I blinked furiously, "I know." I loudly cleared my throat, "I mean, yeah, we have class together." Calm down, I smiled and closed my eyes, slowly breathing out of my nose, I replied, "I'm Ben."
A bubble of giggles exploded from her mouth and as she regained her composure, "I know , we have class together."
Allegra put her book back into her bag and stood up, "it was very nice talking to you, Ben , but I have class, see you in english?" and with a last smile she left.
"yeah, see you later, Allegra."
What a masterpiece she was, Allegra Hart.
