One more chance (Corpse Bride fanfic)

Silence

This night was like an eternity.
I would never forget this.
I would never forget those words that my heart keeps on singing up until now.

No words escaped from my mouth. And neither did she.

We were communicating in the silence while dancing underneath the gentle moon, the sound of the cricket was like a melody, and the little light that the dragon flies provide were like stars that floats freely in the air.

I held her gently, I wonder can she hear the song my heart is singing?

I want to tell her right here, right now. But her head was on my chest.

I slide down slowly on her arms and held her hands.

Finally she look up. Look at those eyes, what a fascinating thing to look at.

I've been in this world for half of my life but I never found anything or anyone that fascinates me beside from the butterflies I have been studying. Or what my mother keeps on calling " hobby"

This is it.
Taking a deep breath.
And preparing my poor little heart.

'' E.. Mhhh'' my voice broke.

Oh fiddlesticks victor, man the freaking up. I mentally slap my self.

''Emily'' success! I said her name loud and clear. Now the words I LOVE YOU.

With such persisting look I sweat drop.. It's not that hard right? I love you, see?!!.. I can freaking do this. Feeling like an idiot as I make sure the eye contact doesn't break off.

Thankfully she is patient in listening to poor me.

'' I...'' Gulp.
" l.. o... ve'' there! Bloody hell just the you..

My hands were sweating.

" y-..." I stop midway. Emily was loosing her grip as she wobbled.
Noticing that she was about to hit the ground I grab her tightly.

" Emily are you okay?'' She was unconscious and then I panic.

Quickly I sweep her feet off the ground and carried her. She was light and breathing heavily.

My legs immediately response. And I come dashing back to my house.

"Emily, stay with me" I went white. I was scared. I was so scared of loosing her again.

"Emily please stay with me" I climb up the few stairs that separating the back door and the garden.

"Mother!!!" I yelled. I feel the weight of the people starring.
"Mother! Father!!" I desperately call my parents

" victor?" With a high tone and a hint of nervousness I turn around and see my parents.

"Emily is.. She" Words rumble inside my head.

"Collapsed" that's the only word I only said before my father took in charge of the situation.

" call the doctor dear" my father said. I was frozen in the moment.

" You! Bring her upstairs and put her gently on the bed" his words were tough but gentle in the same time.
I frantically went upstairs.

Without thinking I went to the closest bedroom in the hallway.

She was burning up and breathing heavily.

" Stay with me Emily! Stay with me!!" I said desperately.. Giving a tight grip at her hand before my mother kick me out of the room.

The door slam and I was left dumb folded. I took a step forward and lean my back on the hallway wall right across the room where Emily is.
I sat on the floor waiting for the doctor.

What's happening?
She was fine a few seconds ago and now she is lying down unconscious on the bed.

I'm really scared.
Scared that she might disappear again. That night,
In the chapel and under the full moon.

" I love you but you are not mine" the words that she left. I ruffled my hair.

A part of me died on the day she disappeared. That's when I realize I care for her and now I realize that I love her I can't imagine it.

Hurried footstep pass the hallway and went inside the room. It was my father with the doctor.
They quickly went inside. The clock ticks, i don't know how many hours have pass.

I saw the the doctor talking with my father and mother outside Emily's door.
"How is she?"I Immediately asked.

My mother and father look at each other then look at me and smiled.

" She's ok now. Her fever is dropping" the doctor said. My mind relax.

"She just need a few days of rest" he reassured.
" I don't understand. What happened?" I asked.

My mind was completely blank these are the only thing I can ask. Even though the doctor said that she is now alright, I want to see her that's all I want.

" Her body and mind is stress over the changes she is experiencing" the doctor said.
Stress. This is my fault. Maybe I force her too much.
"Is it okay to see her now" I asked.
"Go in Victor, we'll send the doctor home" my mother said and left down the stairs.

I turn the door knob then the door creak open. I can see the fire place lit and a girl sleeping peacefully on my bed. I drag the chair near the side of the bed and settle down.

Thank goodness she's fine.
I can hear her breathing next to me. She is still breathing heavy maybe the fever is not completely gone. I frowned. I touch her forehead and I felt her soft skin is getting a little warm.

" I'm sorry" I whispered at her.

I feel her moving unease.
" Emily you can't move. You should rest" I said.

She didn't reply.

I think she is still half asleep. I settle her down properly so she won't fall this suddenly she grab and pull me closer to her.

And that moment I fell her warm breathe near my lips and slowly she sealed it to mine. Soft and warm sensation damp on my lips. And then left me surprised.

Did she just kissed me?
