Reality
Everyone hopped in and out of the pool, eating snacks and drinking strawberry daiquiris that Colton was making behind a tiki bar Tyler had in his backyard but I decided to lay on a fancy reclining chair and let the sun slowly turn my skin a darker golden brown.
I was trying really hard not to freak out over the fact that Tyler just said him and my siblings knows I'm gay. The thought of them made me nervous but happy at the same time. We're Lindsay and Romy going to tell my parents? They aren't homophobes but I don't know how they would react.
I felt a shadow hover over me for a moment before I heard the seat next me creek, signifying that someone sat down. I looked over and took off my sunglasses, making eye contact with Dylan's bright blue eyes again. I smiled and greeted him to which he smiled back and handed me a red drink. "You want it?" he asked and I hesitated for a minute.
I looked over to my right, the opposite way of Dylan and saw my siblings both drinking daiquiris as well. I turned back to Dylan and shrugged my naked shoulders. "Sure, why not?" I smiled and took the drink from his hand.
"I'm sure it isn't the first time you've had a drink. Besides, I'm not of age either." For a moment it slips my mind that Dylan is only 2 years older than me. He seems so much older, more mature.
I took a sip from the cup and quickly tasted the mix of fruit and alcohol. Dylan was right, it wasn't my first time drinking but there's definitely a lot more alcohol in this drink than I excpected. Colton really doesn't mess around.
"You like it?" Dylan wondered and I nodded again shyly.
"Yeah it's pretty litty," I said and wanted to facepalm myself so hard as soon as the words left my mouth. Dylan let out a loud laugh and I physically cringed at myself before giving in and laughing too. "I'm sorry I'm such a nerd," I apologized and continued to laugh.
"You aren't a nerd, you're funny," Dylan complimented and I couldn't help but give him a bright smile and take another swig of my drink. "So how 'bout you come in the pool? The water's really nice you know."
I looked over at the gigantic pool and thought about going in for a second. "I don't know, I'm trying to get less pale." Dylan rolled his eyes and stood up, holding out his hand.
"Come on, you have the whole summer to get a tan." I sipped through my straw again and eventually decided to take his hand.
