Dear Agent #2,
My pack and I are all super close; some of them mean more to me than my actual brothers or sisters. But most, if not all of them have mates, and I want to be happy for them but I'm convinced I'm going to end up a lone wolf and be frowned on for it. It's a challenge being a werewolf without a mate in the first place, but what if I just don't want one? What's wrong? What will happen to me?
~Frustrated Unmated
I got this one, Agent #2 - I've spent enough time in my previous life trying to lure people into my lake with varied success...
Dear Frustrated,
The worst that will happen to you is that you beat yourself up for being different. Your future and self-importance don't rest on whether or not you find yourself a mate! Embrace who you are first, then think about whether you really need to be with somebody else, of if you're under pressure from pack norms.
It might be different in werewolf culture from lake-spirit culture, but think of all the freedom you can have to do exactly as you please, and not have anyone nagging at you for eating the last piece of that delicious deer heart, or asking you not to shed on their side of the bed.
Or something.
I live in a lake, sometimes a kitchen drawer, so what do I know about werewolves? Not much, but I know enough about an eternity of allure and attraction to realise it wasn't worth wasting my afterlife on as well!
